UNPARDONABLE SIN - 1

THE UNPARDONABLE SIN -- 1

We are told by the Scriptures that Israel limited God because the Pharisees Blaspheme the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 12: 22 - 30
22) Then one was brought to Him who was demon-possessed, blind & mute; & He healed him, so that the blind & mute man both spoke & saw.
23) And all the multitudes were amazed & said, "Could this be the Son of David?"
24) But when the Pharisees heard it they said, "This fellow does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons."
25) But Jesus knew their thoughts, & said to them: "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, & every city or house divided against itself will not stand.
26) "And if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?
27) "And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges.
28) "But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.
29) "Or else how can one enter a strong man's house & plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.
30) "He who is not with Me is against Me, & he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad.

The Pharisees Commit the Unpardonable Sin:

Matthew 22: 31 - 37
31) "Therefore I say to you, every sin & blasphemy will be forgiven of men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.
32) "Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or the age to come.
33) "Either make the tree good & its fruit good, or else make a tree bad & its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit.
34) "Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth will speaks.
35) "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, & an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.
36) "But I say to you that every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the judgment.
37) "For by your words you will be justified, & by your words you will be condemned."

Mark 3:22 - 30
22) And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, "He has Beelzebub," &, "By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons."
23) So He called them to Him & said to them in parables: "How can Satan cast out Satan?
24) "If a kingdom is divided against itself, that Kingdom cannot stand.
25) "And if a house is divided against itself that house cannot stand.
26) "And if Satan has risen up against himself, & is divided, he cannot stand, but has an end.
27) "No one can enter a strong man's house & plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man, & then he will plunder his house.
28) "Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, & whatever blasphemies they may utter;
29) "but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation" -- --
30) because they said, "He has an unclean spirit."

DL Moody said: "The actual unpardonable sin is blaspheming the Holy Spirit. The person whom would commit this is maliciously, & willfully, & deliberately would say that he believes Jesus Christ had a devil in Him & Jesus Christ was under the power of the devil & Jesus Christ cast out devils by the power of the devil."
Have you ever met anybody who has said the above or that Jesus Christ was possessed by an unclean spirit? I haven't; now they may have said other things about Jesus Christ, because of bitterness or anger. But never that Jesus Christ had a devil or an unclean spirit in Him or even that He was possessed by one. I hope I never do either. That sin is the unpardonable sin & will be subject to eternal hell!

There are other things such as grieving the Spirit of God & then there is resisting the Spirit of God. Those two sins are not the unpardonable sin. They're not the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

Resisting the Holy Spirit of God - you can resist the Holy Spirit of God until His Spirit has left you. That would be when that person would not let sin bother or trouble him. Now, if the person who is resisting the Spirit of God & the Spirit hasn't left him he will feel bother or trouble by his sins. The Holy Spirit of God is doing His job! That is the Holy Spirit of God not the devil.
Yes, the devil will try to make us believe that we are good enough without God. Look at the world today. They're trying very hard to make others believe that they are good enough without God & that they are saved without Jesus Christ. That salvation is just from an old book that is out dated & that old book is not for today.
If we realize that we are a sinner & that we are lost, it is by the works of the Holy Spirit of God!! Now if that same person would resist the Holy Spirit of God; were the Holy Spirit would leave him. Today we call these people cold hearted, bitter, heartless people but, they still have not committed the unpardonable sin.
