Matt instantly learned the Russian language Jim Bramlett May 30, 2009 Dear friend: This is the amazing testimony of how God supernaturally and instantly taught the late Messianic Jewish leader Matt Schwartz how to speak fluent Russian! The first part of May 2009 I was notified that dear friend Matt had been found deceased in his apartment. Matt was one of the greatest men and Christian examples I have ever known. He was a senior pastor, Bible teacher, motivational speaker, and founder and president of Intercessors for Israel Ministries with 35,000 Delegates in all 50 states and 62 nations. Matt had shared about how shortly after the year 2000, he sensed that God was calling him to minister in Russia. But Matt did not know the language. He tried and tried those self-teaching programs, but he simply could not learn. Matt continued to sense he was supposed to go to Russia and one day heard God say, "Only obey my voice. I'll take care of it." So Matt decided to obey, step out in faith, and go. While traveling to Leningrad on a sleeper train (not made for comfort), Matt could not sleep, so about 2-3 a.m. he decided to get up and go to the club car for a cup of tea. There was only one other person in the car, a Russian man in a military uniform. Assuming he understood Russian, the man spoke to Matt and invited him to sit down. Shockingly, Matt could understand what the man said to him! Then Matt started speaking to the man in Russian, and shared the gospel with him. It turns out that the man was a Russian naval officer who taught in a submarine academy. He was so touched by Matt and his message that he invited him to speak to the students about this Jesus about whom Matt spoke! Matt did later speak at the school to about 300-400 people, sharing from the Scriptures how the coming Messiah was prophesied in detail centuries beforehand, with all the prophecies fulfilled in Jesus. About 100 of the Russians received Christ that day. No doubt much more seed was planted which will someday come to fruition. With his newly learned language, Matt continued to minister in Russia many times over the years, in Moscow, Leningrad, and Kiev, to God's glory. The only prophecy teaching more appealing than a pretrib rapture that saves us from going through the dreaded Great Tribulation, is this one. It simply says that Jesus can come back "at any moment" with no prerequisite event. Supposedly the early church believed and taught this. I sure hope not as the passing of almost 2000 years makes that doctrine suspect. Yet it does not matter who believes a doctrine, only whether the Bible supports it. Once again you will be amazed at how easy it is to debunk yet another perennially popular teaching. Just a couple clear verses will suffice. For example, Paul warned "that ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand" (2The 2:2). Robertson's Word Pictures says "imminent" would be a fine translation of "at hand". Likewise, in the Olivet Discourse Jesus declared to his listeners that many things must yet happen including wars and rumors of wars and yet the "end was not yet" or "won't come right away" (Mt 24:6-10; Mk 13:7-8; Lk 21:9-11). After those prelude events, he said only the "beginning of sorrows" would finally commence with earthquakes, famines, and pestilences. Luke 21:11 adds the additional detail of terrors and great signs from heaven to the rest of these beginning sorrows. Together they well summarize the 6th seal of Revelation which describes an indisputably yet future time when all these things significantly begin to happen at once (great earthquake, all grasses burned up and one third of the sun blocked resulting in famine and pestilences). This aligns the "beginning of sorrows/birth pains" with the future 6th seal through 4th trumpet preceding the Great Tribulation at the 5th trumpet. So if these things are yet future and the "end is not yet" then Jesus' coming has never been imminent, just unknown. There are so many prophecies of events to precede the Second Coming, the idea of his return being imminent with no prerequisite is impossible. A list would include at least: The cosmic signs mentioned above and in Joel 2:30-31; Isa. 13:9-11; Matt. 24:29-31; Acts 2:19-20. The coming of Elijah before the great and dreadful day of the Lord (Mal 4:5-6) which Jesus and John both implied was a dual prophecy only partially fulfilled by John the Baptist (Luke 1:17; John 1:19-23; Mt 17:10-13). Paul said the great apostasy or falling away followed by the revealing of the Antichrist as God sitting in the Temple of God must come "first" before the Day of Christ and our gathering to him at the rapture (2The 2:1-4). If Jesus was never going to come "at any moment", what is the plan? I personally believe that the Bible teaches he would come after 6000 years or six millennial days from when man's self-rule began. This is what the six days of creation foreshadow, much as just about everything in the Torah is prophetic or "a shadow of good things to come". The seventh day when God rested, later the basis for the sabbath day commandment given to Israel, pictures the Millennial reign of Christ and his saints on earth (Rev 20). May 29, 2009 Dear Ms. Picard: Thank you for your letter regarding same-sex marriage. I appreciate your taking the time to share your thoughts with me. I understand your concerns. Recently, the District of Columbia Council approved legislation to recognize same-sex marriages performed in other states. The bill was approved by District of Columbia Mayor Adrian Fenty and Congress will have at least 30 days to reject or approve the measure. If Congress does not act on the bill within that time frame, it becomes law in the District of Columbia. Rep. Paul Broun (R-GA) recently introduced H. J. Res. 54 to disapprove of the action of the District of Columbia Council in approving the legislation. In addition, Jim Jordan (R-OH) introduced H.R. 2608 to define marriage in the District of Columbia as the union of one man and one woman. Both pieces of legislation have been referred to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform for consideration. However, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has yet to set a date to consider these measures. To date, legislation has not been introduced in the Senate. During the 110th Congress, Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS) introduced S. J. Res. 43, the Marriage Protection Act. The resolution proposed to amend the Constitution to define marriage as the union of a man and a woman. I was an original cosponsor of S. J. Res. 43 because I believe it is wrong for a select minority to impose their definition of marriage on the nation. Unfortunately, the Senate failed to consider S. J. Res. 43 before the close of the 110th Congress. In March, Rep. Dan Lungren (R-CA) introduced H. Res. 37 to propose to amend the Constitution to define marriage as the union of a man and a woman. The resolution has been referred to the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties for consideration. A similar resolution has yet to be introduced in the Senate. It is important to remember that, while not impossible, amending the Constitution was intentionally made a difficult process by our Founding Fathers. However, the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) remains federal law (Public Law 104-199). The Act defines marriage as the legal union between one man and one woman as husband and wife and a spouse as a person of the opposite sex who is a husband or a wife. Kansas adheres to a longstanding policy that does not recognize same sex marriages. Most recently, 70 percent of Kansans voted overwhelmingly in favor of the April 2005 ballot initiative to amend the state constitution to define marriage as between a man and a woman. INNOCENCE IS PRICELESS One Sunday morning, the pastor noticed little Alex standing in the foyer of the church staring up at a large plaque. It was covered with names and small American flags mounted on either side of it. The six-year old had been staring at the plaque for some time, so the pastor walked up, stood beside the little boy, and said quietly, 'Good morning Alex.' 'Good morning Pastor,' he replied, still focused on the plaque. 'Pastor, what is this? ' The pastor said, 'Well son, it's a memorial to all the young men and women who died in the service.' Soberly, they just stood together, staring at the large plaque. Finally, little Alex's voice, barely audible and trembling with fear asked, 'Which service, the 8:30 or the 10:30?

Law of the Garbage Truck One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really friendly. So I asked, 'Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!' This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, 'The Law of the Garbage Truck.'He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you. Don't take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets. The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day. Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so.... love the people who treat you right. The Seed A successful businessman was growing old and Knew it was time to choose a successor to take over the business. Instead of choosing one of his Directors or his children, He decided to do something different. He called all the young executives In his company together. He said, "It is time for me to step down and choose the next CEO. I haveDecided to choose one of you. "The young executives were Shocked, but the boss continued. I want you to plant the seed water it, and come back here one year fromToday with what you have grown from the seed I have given you. I will then judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will beThe next CEO." One man, named Jim, was there that day and he, like the others, receivedA seed. He went home and excitedly, told his wife the story.She helped him get a pot, soil and compost and he planted the seed. Everyday, he would water it and watch to see if it had Grown. After about three weeks, some of the other executives began toTalk about their seeds and the plants that were beginning to grow. Jim kept checking his seed, but nothing ever grew. Three weeks, four weeks, five weeks went by, still nothing. By now, others were talking about their plants, but Jim didn't have aPlant and he felt like a failure. Six months went by -- still nothing in Jim's pot. He just knew he hadKilled his seed. Everyone else had trees and tall plants, but he hadNothing. Jim didn't say anything to his colleagues, however... He just keptWatering and fertilizing the soil - He so wanted the seed to grow. A year finally went by and all the young executives of the companyBrought their plants to the CEO for inspection. Jim told his wife that he wasn't going to take an empty pot. But she asked him to be honest about what happened. Jim felt sick to hisStomach, it was going to be the most embarrassing moment of his life, but heKnew his wife was right. He took his empty pot to the board room. When Jim arrived, he was amazedAt the variety of plants grown by the other executives. They were beautiful-- in all shapes and sizes. Jim put his empty pot on the floor and Many of his colleagues laughed, a few felt sorry for him! When the CEO arrived, he surveyed the room and greeted his youngExecutives. Jim just tried to hide in the back.. "My, what great plants, trees, andFlowers you have grown," said the CEO. "Today one of you will be appointedThe next CEO!" All of a sudden, the CEO spotted Jim at the back of the room with hisEmpty pot. He ordered the Financial Director to bring him to the front. Jim was terrified. He thought, "The CEO knows I'm a Failure! Maybe he will have me fired!" When Jim got to the front, the CEO asked him what had happened to hisSeed - Jim told him the story. The CEO asked everyone to sit down except Jim.He looked at Jim, and thenAnnounced to the young executives, "Behold your next Chief ExecutiveOfficer! His name is Jim!" Jim couldn't believe it. Jim couldn't even grow his seed. "How could he be the new CEO?" the others said. Then the CEO said, "One year ago today, I gave everyone in this room aSeed. I told you to take the seed, plant it, water it, and bring it back toMe today. But I gave you all boiled seeds; they were dead - it was notPossible for them to grow. Air breathing, Blood pumping, and Prayers unceasing This morning I read from Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest. Thisis one of the VERY BEST daily devotionals that I would highly recommend toanyone needing focus for the day. Today’s reading was titled ‘Thinking of Prayer as Jesus Taught’. Let meshare the first two sentences from this devotional .. “OUR THINKING ABOUT PRAYER, whether right or wrong is based on our ownmental conception of it. The right thinking is to think of prayer as thebreath in our lungs, and the blood from our hearts. Our blood flows and ourbreathing continues without ceasing. This is how prayer should be in ourlives.This message spoke volumes to me on the place of prayer in the midst of thebusyness in my life.. I spend so much effort thinking about what I need todo each day and what is not going right without taking time tobreath/pray. Being one with God, being in tune (or in my case toon) to hisspirit is where I need to be.. I do not want to be living in this fallen world hindered by it's pitfallsor my limitations, or hyper focused circumstances. Instead I want mythoughts and actions to be in sync with God’s will. Dear Londa, We’ve been working hard in the lead-up to the Supreme Court nomination to prepare . . . and today was the day. As you know, the President nominated Second Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Sonia Sotomayor. We’ve spent the day responding to requests for a response from a pro-life perspective -- running from the Associated Press to the BBC to FOX Radio and more. The Washington Post gave AUL credit for leading the way in researching Sotomayor’s record and being one of the first pro-life groups to comment on her nomination. Frankly, this is a very troubling nomination. In listing his requirements for a Supreme Court pick, President Obama highlighted “empathy” rather than loyalty to Constitutional principles. Now, we see what that means -- a judge who makes it clear she decides cases on feelings, not facts. She is a radical judicial activist who readily admits that she applies her personal political agenda when deciding cases. In a speech at Duke Law School at 2005, Sotomayor said that her own Court of Appeals -- not the democratically elected legislature -- is “where policy is made.” Taking such “judicial action,” she said in a 2004 speech, is part of the “heroics of judges today; it may dwell in protecting our own turf and ensuring that it is we who interpret the law.” Sotomayor’s philosophy of radical judicial activism is exactly the thinking that led to the Supreme Court turning into the “National Abortion Control Board,” denying the American people the right to be heard on this critical issue. She will further entrench the Court’s self-appointed role as the sole arbiter of abortion policy. Based on her judicial philosophy, we expect her to elevate unrestricted, unregulated, and taxpayer-funded abortion-on-demand to a fundamental constitutional right by reading the sweeping Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) into the Constitution. Pro-abortion groups are already lining up to endorse Obama’s choice. NARAL praised her “distinguished record of professional accomplishments,” while the National Organization for Women (NOW) said it would “celebrate” the nomination with a “Confirm Her” ad campaign. When you see how easy it is to rule out such candidates you will be amazed. All it takes is a single verse from arguably the most famous prophecy in the Bible, Daniel's 70 Weeks: Daniel 9:26 (HCSB) -- After those 62 weeks the Messiah will be cut off and will have nothing. The people of the coming prince will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come with a flood, and until the end there will be war; desolations are decreed. Who is the prince referred to here? You may have heard the idea that the prince is the Messiah. But the next verse says this prince stops the sacrifices and causes the Abomination of Desolation. If you think the Messiah accomplished this (on the cross), you only need check Daniel 11:28-32 for more details about the culprit. That passage shows that a wicked, corrupting man called the future King of the North does it. He is also commonly referred to as "the Antichrist". It says that this prince is of the people who came and destroyed the Second Temple. Every Bible student knows the Roman Empire destroyed the temple in 70 AD to fulfill this prophecy. In other words, the Antichrist must come out of one of those nations. While England was indeed one of them, America was not even a country yet. So America is ruled out. Some would say Barack Obama's mother was Scottish so that qualifies him. But having British or Roman Empire heritage is not what is specified here. It says the Antichrist is a prince or ruler of a Roman Empire nation. Barack Obama is a ruler of America and that disqualifies him as an Antichrist candidate. And this also disqualifies all American politicians as Antichrist candidates. Who is the Antichrist? I do not know. There is a candidate alive today that seems to fit. A mom was concerned about her kindergarten son walking to school. He didn't want his mother to walk with him. Dear Rev. Londa Picard, Do You Fall For These 7 Prophecy Pitfalls? To understand Bible prophecy is a worthy, rewarding goal. The Bible boldly promises to let you know the future (Rev 1:1-3), something not possible without revelation from God. But it never promises that it will be easy. Instead it says in several places that it will take rare wisdom and righteousness to achieve (Dan 12:10; Rev 13:18; Mt 24:15). While you are still gathering this wisdom you are going to be susceptible to almost every half-baked theory and prediction created. They often come straight to your inbox forwarded by friends or from newsgroups. Wars, earthquakes, terrorist attacks, asteroid impacts, marshal law, economic collapse and everything else imaginable are predicted. The funny thing is, mostly these ideas come from fellow believers. Jesus was not kidding when he warned us that many would come in his name deceiving many. Sadly, Christians deceive their fellow Christians more than any secular skeptic could. It happens because when we encounter such theories for the first time, we are ill-equipped to debunk them, much like Eve was when Satan told her the first lie she ever heard. Like Satan's lie, these predictions effectively mix the truth of the Word of God with error. We may doubt a prediction, but the fear of what would happen if they turn out to be accurate can be very powerful. So we end up watching "just in case" because we cannot debunk them. Sound familiar? I confess I took this same approach when Y2K was approaching ten years ago because I still understood very little of Bible prophecy properly back then. With all I have learned since then, I no longer have to wait and see if such predictions happen. They can usually be debunked in seconds (much to the annoyance of those who dream up these theories and their supporters). Thankfully, you can learn to do the same. You do not have to fall for everything that I did and others continue to fall for. With wisdom and instruction you can debunk all the popular theories out there. Here, then, are the top prophecy pitfalls I have seen, in descending order, along with the wisdom to climb out of each pit. 7. Economic Signs of the End -- Ever notice that whenever there is a great tragedy, inevitably it is suggested that it is the fulfillment of some Bible prophecy? Whether it be 9-11, Hurricane Katrina, major earthquakes or Russia at war with Georgia, or Israel invading Gaza, the speculation flies. The recent global economic downturn is no exception. Some predict that the economic trouble is the beginning of the end for America. While it is true that Bible prophecy does predict the fall of America, the fall is not characterized as beginning with an economic collapse nor as happening gradually. Bible prophecy indicates that Mystery Babylon falls suddenly, in a single day, even a single hour (Rev 18:8, 10). What most people overlook (me included, until recently) is that she still sits on top of the world (as all seven continents as the seven mountains represent) both militarily and economically when it happens. We know this because the Bible says that the seafaring merchants who were made rich by trading with her principle city will weep at the sight of her sudden destruction which means no one will buy their merchandise any more (Rev 18:11-19). Therefore America is not on a slow descent to be replaced by, say, China. Instead we can expect she will rebound from this economic crisis as she always does. She will continue to dominate the world until the day she falls at the hands of her many enemies. Jesus in speaking of the Great Tribulation which rounds out this age, described prosperity and ease with people eating, drinking, building and marrying (Mt 24:38). In fact, the Antichrist comes to power through proving he is God and can save the world from the disaster of star Wormwood's passage (Rev 6-8; 2The 2:4). Prophecy Pitfall #6 - Parable of the Fig Tree Generation CalculationsYou cannot study prophecy without hearing some version of the idea that Israel being reestablished in 1948 or reclaiming land in 1967 began a "one generation" countdown to Jesus' return. I fell for it back in 2000 when it worked with the generation of 40 years established in the Bible: 1967 + 40 = 2007. But despite being way past its original expiration date, this theory stays alive thanks to imaginative redefinitions of a generation. For example, one popular Internet teacher who once taught a 40-year generation now teaches a generation of 48.33 years and Jesus' return Fall, 2015 (June, 1967 + 48.33). If that does not sound very subjective or contrived to you, then try coming up with the same number from the verse she bases it on: Mt 1:17. Others wonder if 70 years (Ps 90:10) and 120 years (Gen 6:3) are the correct magic numbers for a generation. They hold out hope that this parable holds the key to the timing of Jesus' coming. But there is no need to withhold judgment until 2018 or 2068 to see if these are right. There are several serious problems with this theory now; enough to debunk it. In fact, if I had noticed these problems from the start, I never would have fallen for the theory. 1. The proper time for a biblical generation is solidly established by two examples in the Bible, one of them from the actual fulfillment of this very prophecy. First, the Israelites wandered 40 years in the desert until the "unfaithful generation" died out (Nu 32:13; Ps 95:10). Later, Jesus pronounced certain things would come upon his "wicked generation" (Mt 12:34,39; 23:36) and "this" generation would not pass until the temple destroyed (Mt 24:34, Mk 13:30, Lk 21:32). He spoke those words in 30 AD and, sure enough, 40 years later, in the year 70, the Romans sacked Jerusalem and destroyed the temple. In fulfillment of Mt 24:2, not one stone was left on another and the judgment on the people he predicted came. 2. Which brings us to another problem, Jesus said "this generation" speaking to those present in the First Century. If he intended his words towards a later generation, he did not leave an opening for that. 3. In Luke's version, Jesus compares the signs he told you to watch to how the "fig tree and allthe trees" sprout before summer. Apparently Matthew and Mark abbreviated Jesus' words when they mention only the fig tree. If Jesus was using the fig to indicate Israel, why mention allthe trees sprouting? Are multiple nations to be reborn or created as the start of the "final generation"? Fair question. 4. Now suppose Israel's rebirth iswhat is intended and the standard of 40 is somehow notthe definition of a generation here. If the generation would not pass, that means the last person who saw Israel reborn will not die before Jesus comes. Regarding the suggestion of 70, it is only an averagelife expectancy and it falls short of telling you how many years before that last person would die by. The number 120 would indeed be accurate as the maximum life span (ifthat is what the unclear passage of Gen 6:3 is trying to tell us). So if we use that number from 1948 and remember that Jesus said no man knows the day or hour, then Jesus would be telling us he will return anywhere from 1948-2068, rather than a specific date of 2068. If that is what he is telling us, I do not know how useful that is. 5. Jesus said no man knows the day or hour of his coming. Yet this theory tries to set the year of Jesus' coming off of things he said 2000 years ago when he said nobody knew. 6. But the biggest problem of all with turning this parable into a prophecy is that it ignores the plain sense meaning of the parable. When you read what he said carefully, you will see that parable had one point to it. The point was just as you can tell summer is nigh by noticing all the trees sprout leaves by the same token you can watch for "all these things" he spoke of to know when his coming was nigh. We are told to carefully watch those events mentioned from Mt 24:1-31, not to watch "Israel the Fig Tree" to know when he is coming. Taking parables out of their context and overworking the metaphor is a common problem in Christian exegesis. It has lead to many false doctrines and theories. Of course, Jesus said he spoke in parables to hide the meaning of his teachings from the masses, and so we see he has been successful. In the future I hope to write a teaching on how to properly read the Bible. Proper reading of parables would be at the top of my list. I know we get busy in our lives. We don't listen to God when He calls us to ABIDE in Him. To really REST in Him. We think we can do it ourselves & we only need God in a Bind. As a child if we will ABIDE in our parents we should find safety. That doesn't even come close to Abide safely. Abiding in God we find safety, rest, growth, understanding, & love!! It's a though the Bride ABIDES in the bride-groom. Even non Christians knows ABIDING as one songs "To Love A Women"; It explains how to love a women, how to care for her. As though he loves her very deeply. That is how God wants us to be. To ABIDE in Him. To fellowship with Him, not just once & a while. But for always 24/7. Where is it made,

In our current economic situation, every little thing we buy or do affects someone else and perhaps even their job. So, after reading this email, I think this lady is on the right track. Let's get behind her!! My grandson likes Hershey's candy. It is marked made in Mexico now. I do not buy it any more. My favorite toothpaste Colgate is made in Mexico now. I have switched to Crest. You have to read the labels on everything. This past weekend I was at Kroger. I needed 60W light bulbs and Bounce dryer sheets. I was in the light bulb aisle and right next to the GE brand I normally buy was an off brand labeled, "Everyday Value. " I picked up both types of bulbs and compared the stats - they were the same except for the price. The GE bulbs were more money than the Everyday Value brand but the thing that surprised me the most was the fact that GE was made in> MEXICO and the Everyday Value brand was made in - get ready for this - the USA in a company in Cleveland , Ohio . So throw out the myth that you cannot find products you use every day that are made right here. So on to another aisle - Bounce Dryer Sheets....yep, you guessed it, Bounce cost more money and is made in Canada. The Everyday Value brand was less money and MADE IN THE USA! I did laundry yesterday and the dryer sheets performed just like the Bounce Free I have been using for years and at almost half the price! So my challenge to you is to start reading the labels when you shop for everyday things and see what you can find that is made in the USA - the> job you save may be your own or your neighbors! If you accept the challenge, pass this on to others in your address book so we can all start buying American, one light bulb at a time! Stop buying from China ........... = (We should have awakened to this a decade ago......) I agree with what this lady wrote so I'm passing this on. We should read the lables & buy MADE IN THE USA!!! I have been reading a book by Richard Wurmbrand "Tortured for Christ"; it's about the Underground Church in Communism Romania. By reading what the church went through there. It's like a repeat of History in America. Richard Wurmbrand is the Founder fo the Voice of the Martyrs. It shows how the government got into the churches & totally took over. Hitting it's people with mindwashing or brain-washing. A quote from the book. Page 10 & 11 "Working Undercover The secret police greatly persecuted the Undergound Church, because they recognized in it the only effective resistance left. It was just the kind of risistance (a spiritual resistance) that, if left undindered, would undermine their atheistic power. They recognized, as only the devil can, an immediate threat to them. They knew that if a man believed in Christ, he would never be a mindless, willing subject. They knew they could imprision the physical body, but they couldn't imprision a man's spirit - his faith in God. And so they fought very hard." It seems like a repeat of History here in the Free Country of the United States. Romania was a free country but, atheistism moved in. And our ministers today is NOT PREACHING THE GOSPLE. The Word of God has gone by the way side!!! I myself don't understand & know all the mysteries of God. Only God has the answers. I don't understand why some are healed & some are not. They have the same faith, the same belief. In Hebrews 11 not everybody was healed here on earth. Some waited til Heaven. Nobody knows why. I know God wants us healed; He tells us that. So never feel bad or anger towards God. I'm sorry, I felt that was needed saying. Back to the Government & Church leaders. Get into a church that really preaches the Word of God that preaches the BIBLE. Don't just hear oh how it feels so good, let us just go with the flow. God gave warning on this. It's the spirit of the anti-christ. I don't when or where the world will end for the end times. I'm seeing this happening now in our churches. I want people to be taught the Word not just the feel good things & I want. I want, I want. I hope I'm explaining this correctly. Will the Christians in America go underground; I really believe it's going & it will. We are already classified as right wings & haters of Gays, haters of sin. Yes, I am a hater of Sin but, not haters of Gays just the sin that they're in. It's the sin not the person & we will never get them to Christ & to see their sins if we hate them & not the sin. Please, don't hate the person, hate the sin. Even if it pushed down your throat. Pray for them, express to Gays how you feel not in hatred but in LOVE. That is God's way not Londa's way. God tells us to walk in LOVE!!! I am not saying oh let us just let the sin go, no that is not what I am saying. Seperate the Sin From the Person. Just as in the book "Tortured for Christ" Richard Wurmbrand loved the People of the Communist but, not Communism, not atheistem. Even after all the horrible things they did to him. We should become as Christ-like as we can. That is for any Christian to attain this highest Goal of their life. Be Passionate as Christ. See what would Christ do. He would teach that it is wrong to be Gay in the meaning of man today. But, that God still loves them. And haveing that type of sin or any other sin as preist likeing little boys. I can go on & on, sin of porn, sin of using children porn. That is why I will not let people advertise on my site. I was looking on a Christian site & the next thing I knew on was on a porn page not the cute animal pictures I was looking at. Other sins as hating another human because of the color of their skin. You cannot win these to Christ by hateing them. NO ONLY LOVE CAN WIN THEM!!!!!! We are in Christ Jesus. Now the Corinthians were still young & carnel Christians. Now the consciousness of the WHOLE Christians life depended on their position in Christ. That the daily renewal of their's & our faith's assurance. We are in Christ Jesus. Paul taught them that & we should also stand on Paul's teaching of Christ Jesus! One of the ways is to start at the beginning; that WE ARE IN CHRIST JESUS!! Aposostle Paul had an additional thought, greater then that Paul said "Of God are ye in Christ Jesus". Look at 1 Corinthians 1:30 But of Him Are ya in Christ Jesus. Him is God!! This isn't our doing but, God's doing Himself! We cannot do it on our own. Only God! The Holy Spirit teaches us to believe & realize it. This makes our security in Christ Jesus, IN GOD!

John 3:9-18 Nicodemus said to him, “How can these things be?” 10 Jesus answered him, “Are you the teacher of Israel and yet you do not understand these things? 11 Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know, and bear witness to what we have seen, but you do not receive our testimony. 12 If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13 No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. 16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.” We focus today, and Lord willing next week, on one of the most famous verses in the Bible and the two verses following it that are given to clarify and support it. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. (John 3:16-18) It is not hard to see why verse 16 is one of the most famous, most often memorized, most cherished verses in the Bible. Packed into this verse are the greatest realities that exist. God. Love. The world. The Son of God. Faith. Perishing forever. Living forever. Whoever—you, or not. These are the greatest things that can be. What could be more important? What could be more relevant for you right now? What could be more urgent for you or momentous for you than to know where you stand in relation to what God says to you in this verse? So here’s what I think we should do with John 3:16. Today we will walk through it once, pausing over each of the big words (except loved) and commenting on each of them: God, World, Gave, Son, Believe, Perish, Life. And we will seek to apply that to ourselves as we go along. Then next week, if God wills, we will go back and devote a whole message to the one great word that we pass over today, namely, the word loved—“For God so loved . . .” The Tension in John 3 We will ask, How does God love us in this passage? How does the love of God for the world in verse 16 relate to the work of the Spirit of God in verse 8? There seems to be a tension here. Many feel it, and many people try to remove the tension in away that dishonors the meaning either of verse 8 or verse 16. On the one hand, verse 8 says that God the Spirit blows where he wills and makes alive whom he chooses. “The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” God is free. And it is he, and not we, who has the final, decisive say in who among the spiritually rebellious and dead will be raised to new life. None of us deserves to be made alive. And none of us has the power to make it happen. If anybody is rescued, God does it. But on the other hand, John 3:16 says, “God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” This surely means that God is loving all and offering all eternal life—the very life that the Spirit gives in verse 8. That is what we will try to understand next week. And I will tip you off that I have been very helped in this by Don Carson’s book The Difficult Doctrine of the Love of God. It’s less than 90 pages. It’s understandable, and it is very good. I hope many of you will read it. (You can listen to Carson on the love of God here.) Seven Massive Realities in John 3:16 But first, there are great and awesome things to be clarified in this verse. Seven massively important words—representing seven great realities—that we need to understand so that the power and preciousness of this famous verse can have its full effect. And O how I hope you Bethlehem believers know that such a foundational verse is not just for beginners. It is high-level, high-voltage shock therapy for marriage struggles and single struggles and teenage struggles. So let’s turn first to the seven big words in verse 16. 1. God “For God so loved . . .” There is no reason to think that Jesus means any other God than the God of the Old Testament. He is the all-powerful Creator and Sustainer of the universe. He is personal and not a mere force, meaning he thinks and wills and feels. He loves, and he hates. And as personal, he is moral—that is, he deals with us in terms of right and wrong and good and bad. And as moral, he is unwaveringly righteous. He only does what is right. And the infinite worth of what he is defines what is right. To do right is to think and feel and act in a way that accords with (is in harmony with) God’s infinite worth. All of us were made by this God, and our first and highest duty and reason for being is to honor him and give him thanks (Romans 1:21). We have all failed, and we are all under his righteous displeasure. This is what makes John 3:16 so needed and so precious. It describes the way God is acting to rescue us from this condition. 2. World “For God so loved the world . . .” The most common meaning for world in John is the created and fallen totality of mankind. John 7:7: “The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify about it that its works are evil.” John 14:17: “. . . the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him.” That is the way John is using world here. It is the great mass of fallen humanity that needs salvation. It’s the countless number of perishing people from whom the “whoevers” come in the second part of the verse: “. . . that whoever believes in him should not perish.” The world is the great ocean of perishing sinners from whom the whoever comes. 3. Gave “For God so loved the world, that he gave. . .” Two things need to be said about this giving. One is that it is a giving from heaven. And the other is that it is a giving, not just to come to earth, but to die. Verse 17 replaces the word give with send. “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” So the giving of verse 16 is God’s sending his Son into the world on a mission from heaven. In John 10:17-18, we see what the climax of that mission from the Father is. Jesus says, “For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from my Father.” That last sentence shows that the reason the Father sent the Son was so that the Son would lay down his life. “I lay it down of my own accord. . . . This charge I have received from my father.” So when John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave . . .”, the giving is God sending his Son to earth on a mission to die. It’s just as amazing—only a million times more so—as if you should say to your son, “There is something I want you to do for me: I have some enemies that deserve to perish, and I want you to go and die in their place, so that they can have eternal life.” Whatever else you know about God, make sure you know he is like that. 4. Son “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son. . .” Muslims and others stumble over the idea of God having a Son. So let me say a few things that are crystal clear in John’s Gospel, even though mysterious. God did not have sexual relations with Mary in order to have a Son. Turn back to chapter 1 where John gave us our basic understanding of the Son of God. John 1:1: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” So here we are introduced to the Word. And we are told three things about him. One, he is God. “The Word was God.” Two, he is with God, and therefore distinct from God. “The word was with God.” And third, he was therefore always in existence and never came to be. “In the beginning was the Word.” Then look at verse 14: “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father.” This verse clarifies three things for us. First, the Word of God referred in verse 1 is the Son of God. “The Word became flesh and . . . we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son . . . .” Second, God, with whom the Word was, and from whom he is distinct, is God the Father. He is “the only Son from the Father.” “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God.” He was with God the Father. Third, therefore, Jesus is the Son of God not because the Father had sex with Mary, but because the Son has always existed, without beginning, as “the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature” (Hebrews 1:3). He is fully God. And the Father is fully God. And along with God the Spirit, they are one God, one divine nature. One essence and three persons in an eternal, perfect, joyful relationship. 5. Believe “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes . . .” Four observations about this believing. First, it means that not everybody will benefit from what Jesus came to do. But “whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” The rest will perish—and not have eternal life. Second, the word itself means to embrace something as true; and when it’s a person, it means to trust them to be what they are and do what they say. Third, John 1:11-12 shows that another word John has in mind to explain believe is receive. “[Jesus] came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” So receiving Jesus and believing Jesus explain each other. Fourth, if we ask, “Receive him as what?” the answer would be, “Receive him as what he is.” For example, in John 6:35, Jesus says, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.” So here believing means coming to Jesus and receiving him as the food and drink that satisfies our souls. That’s one of the reasons I talk about receiving him as our Treasure (Matthew 13:44). And this is why faith is so transforming. 6. Perish “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish . . .” What’s most clear and most important is to see that perish is the alternative to eternal life—“. . . not perish but have eternal life.” So if you perish, you don’t get eternal life. Another thing that’s clear here is that verse 18 describes perishing as being condemned. “Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already.” And that means that God’s judicial sentence of wrath is on us as sinners and remains on us. We see this in John 3:36: “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.” So we are already under condemnation because of our sin and unbelief. And perishing means staying there forever under God’s wrath. There is nothing you can imagine worse than having the omnipotent God oppose you with righteous wrath forever. That’s what perishing means. 7. Life “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” This does not simply mean you exist forever. Everybody exists forever. But not everybody has eternal life. This life is first that we are born again and have spiritual life. We know from John 6:63 that “it is the Spirit who gives life.” And we know from 1 John 5:11 that “this life is in [God’s] Son.” This is life to God—life that can see and savor God as glorious and all his creation the way he meant it to be enjoyed. So what happens in our believing is that, by means of believing, the Holy Spirit is uniting us to Christ in whom is life. And in that instant, we are born again, we believe, we are united with the Son of God, and we have his life. And because it is the life of the Son of God, it does last forever. “I am the resurrection and the life,” Jesus said, “Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die” (John 11:25-26). Jesus Gives Life—And Dies in Our Place And at this point, don’t forget what we saw under the word gave—“For God so loved the world that he gave . . .” Meaning gave to die. We don’t perish under the wrath of God because Jesus died in our place under the wrath of God. He was “the Lamb of God”—the sacrifice given in our place—who bears our sin and our punishment (John 1:29, 36). So we have eternal life both because Christ died in our place and because in him is life. He removes the great obstacle of God’s wrath, and he supplies the everlasting life that we don’t have in ourselves. Is This Your Life? Which leaves just one question: Do you live in the forgiveness and life and freedom of John 3:16? Are you free from the fear of death? Does the wonder of being loved like this shape your relationships? I’m not asking if you give lip-service to this verse. But do you live it? Is this your life? Is everything you do permeated with this verse? May God grant you such faith. Believe this promise of John 3:16. Receive the treasure of Christ—and life.

The President admitted that he was puzzled by the magnitude of the opposition to his proposal. "Look, it's an all volunteer force," Obama complained. "Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice ? It doesn't compute.." "I thought these were people who were proud to sacrifice for their country," Obama continued. "I wasn't asking for blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit. I guess I underestimated the selfishness of some of my fellow Americans." I guess OBAMA just doesn't get that the American people love and appreciate our military guys and gals who lay their lives on the line so we can lay our heads down at night in peace. That's because he is not an AMERICAN at heart. That much is obvious. Why in the world people voted for him I'll never know, but we all will surely pay the price and rue the day that he took office. America is getting change but not the change they were looking to get. It's a shame but the people have been had again. ( AS FOREST GUMP SAYS : "Stupid is as stupid does".)
