1 CORINTHIANS 13 - LOVE

1 CORINTHIANS 13 - LOVE

We cannot serve God without us having Charity (Love). Without love we are nothing. So love is the key that will unlock our hearts.

John 13:35
"By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."

John 15:13 & 14
13) "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friend.
14) "You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.

1 John 3:14, 16, & 18
14) We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He wo does not love the brother abides in death.
16) By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
18) My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed & in truth.

1 Corinthians 13: 4 - 8a
4) Love suffers long & is kind; love does not envy, love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
5) does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;
6) does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
7) for us. bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8) Love never fails.

God tells us to have love for one another. We should walk as the early church did in
1 Corinthians 13. We're suppose to do so.

Romans 12:9 &10
9) Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.
10) Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;

Love itself is more important then faith. Because without love we are nothing. As a Christian we have a responsibility to walk in love.
Now if a Christians continually find fault with people it will do damage to their Spiritual life. Just walking out of love will cause that damage.
Christians should not be boastful or think more of themselves. Pride has never walked in love!!
We should exercise the Gift of Love. Because if we do not want to sound like a clanging cymbal. In other words not being empty & our words the same. If we do not walk in Gods love, we can never reach the lost, receive knowledge, understanding, or know the mysteries that God has.

Doing prophesy, speaking in tongues, both man tongues of angles, feed the children, help the poor, the widow. With out love what ever we do doesn't mean a thing!! You have to do those things with LOVE!

Love is & isn't
1 Corinthians 13 (these are not in order of the verses)
LOVE IS LONG-SUFFERING LOVE IS NOT EASILY PROVOKED
LOVE IS KIND LOVE DOESN'T ENVY
LOVE REJOICE IN TRUTH LOVE ISN'T BEING ARROGANT
LOVE BEARS ALL THINGS LOVE IS NEVER RUDE
LOVE BELIEVES ALL THINGS LOVE DOESN'T PROVOKED
LOVE HOPES ALL THINGS LOVE DOESN'T THINK EVIL
LOVE ENDURES ALL THINGS LOVE DOESN'T REJOICE IN SIN
LOVE NEVER FAILS

Love is the first of the Fruits of the Spirit! God loved you & me so very much that He sent His only begotten Son.

John 3:15 - 18
15) "that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
16) "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
17) "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
18) "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

LOVE HATES SIN!!
If we see sin in others we should never condemn them. We should never be fault finding. We should be like Jesus Christ & love them, pray for them, help them work through the sin so they can over come! LOVE them as Christ loved you & never condemn them!! Christ never condemned you. He gave His life for you. We should give our life for others in love. And you will right before God.

AUL

Dear Friend of Life,

Obama Planned ParenthoodThe battle against taxpayer funding of abortion has not ended with President Obama signing the pro-abortion health care law. We must now take the fight to every state in the nation, and to the courts.

Today President Obama returns to the site of his Iowa campaign rally – where he first unveiled his government takeover of health care. Planned Parenthood is claiming to have won a key victory, but we are focused on ensuring that they do not celebrate for long.

Thirteen state Attorneys General have filed suit against the government takeover of health care that funds abortion. Effective immediately, AUL is offering the full assistance of our legal team to any state that wishes to respond legislatively to the pro-abortion provisions in the new health care bill. We have ready-to-deploy model legislative language and will work with any state to tailor it to meet specific needs.

The fight continues now, and it is going to be a long one. Will you help AUL fight back at the state level with a contribution of $50, $100, $250 or more?

We cannot abandon a battle where the stakes are literally life and death. I'm counting on your immediate support because the scope of the campaign is even larger now than it was before. Our fight against taxpayer-funded abortion has been very expensive, and we'll need your continued support to begin this new campaign. With your support, we will be able to carry this fight to the states.

AUL Yours for Life,
Charmaine Yoest

P.S. I would also like to thank you for your dedication to the cause of life these past few months. The outpouring of support that we've received has been truly inspiring. But the fight goes on at the state level, and our legal team needs your immediate financial support. Will you help AUL fight back with a contribution of $50, $100, $250 or more? I'm counting on your immediate contribution so AUL's legal team can offer assistance to any state that wants to opt out of the pro-abortion provisions of the law.

If Bud Abbott and Lou Costello were alive today, their infamous sketch, 'Who's on First?' might have turned out something like this:

Democrats Impose Their Will on the American People
Despite the Democrat’s passing their health care bill and President Obama signing it into law this week, folks around the nation continue to oppose that plan because they know there is a better way to reform health care. I agree. Unfortunately, the Democrat majority was able to impose their will, not the will of the American people, on each one of us by passing their government takeover of health care.

Article 1, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution gives Congress the power “to regulate commerce with foreign nations, and among the several states, and with the Indian tribes.” But, nowhere in the U.S. Constitution did our founding fathers give Congress the authority to regulate commerce between individuals. Requiring all citizens to purchase health insurance or pay a penalty for failing to do so appears to be in violation of that clause. That is why this week I asked Kansas Attorney General Steve Six to join his colleagues around the nation in challenging the constitutionality of this legislation and to protect Kansans from this massive intrusion by the federal government.

This is not a Democrat issue, and it is not a Republican issue. This is an American issue, and the decision to challenge the constitutionality of this bill should not be based on politics. But I can think of no greater obligation of our state’s attorney general than to defend the U.S. Constitution, and I hope he moves forward on this challenge in a timely manner.

Kansans want health care reform, but they do not want this bill. That is why I support efforts to repeal it and replace it with a more responsible plan. I support H.R. 4904 that would prohibit funding for implementation and enforcement of any Federal mandate to purchase health insurance. But simply repealing the flawed Democrat’s health care bill is not enough. I will continue supporting a plan that will reduce premiums and make health care more accessible without destroying what works for millions of Americans.

Health care reform is one of the biggest issues this Congress will take up, and it is critical to each and every American. That is why it is so important that we do this the right way. Two out of every three Americans wants Republicans to continue fighting this government takeover of health care, but that is not enough. Over the past year we’ve seen folks around the nation engage in this process, and I strongly encourage you to continue your efforts as I continue mine. Together we can be successful. Together we can pass responsible health care reform. Together we can turn our nation around. Together we must fight to defend the U.S. Constitution and protect the liberties and freedoms each of us enjoy.

GSA Lodging Per Diem Increase in Leavenworth is Great News for Community
The work that occurs at federal entities in Leavenworth County and the folks who travel there from across the United States are vital to economy of the City of Leavenworth and Leavenworth County. So when I learned that the per diem rate for those who travel to Leavenworth was significantly lower than neighboring communities, I contacted the General Services Administration (GSA) about this inequity and asked them to update their outdated lodging expenses. According to the GSA schedule for lodging per diem rates, the rate for the City of Leavenworth and Leavenworth County was $70 per night. This meant that federal employees could not be reimbursed for any lodging expenses over $70 per night. However, locations just across the Wyandotte County line were at a significantly higher rate of $107 per night. I was very pleased to learn this week that GSA agreed to update the current per diem rates in Leavenworth County. This decision will not only make it more convenient for folks traveling to Leavenworth for work, but it will also save the federal government money by not having to pay mileage for longer commutes. It will also generate growth in the Leavenworth economy.

Don’t Forget: Jobs Fair on April 19

For Kansas

Don't get discouraged.

When there is a loud outcry from the public, a legislative measure is never dead.

The questions is: Can we produce that loud outcry?

It will take energy and sacrifice. Our liberty is at stake.

Here is what we would need people to do:

Individuals or groups would go into the districts of those who voted against SCR 1626 and HCR 5032, knock on voters' doors, explain the Health Care Freedom Amendment and ask for their signature on a petition.

I understand I'm asking people to leave their comfort zone. At least for me, it's not easy to knock on a door of someone I don't know.

The petition can be downloaded from the website at www.kansashealthcarefreedom.com.

Legislators will quickly learn this is happening in their district and they will take notice. They understand the energy behind such an endeavor.

Please let me know if you are interested in this action. If I receive enough interest, I can supply more information.

We could change these votes in one Saturday if we could get enough volunteers to help.

I'll be waiting to hear from you.

We can do this!

AUL

Dear Friends:

After the last week of such intense work to try to keep funding and mandates for abortion out of health care, capped by the sudden collapse of “the Stupak bloc” which led to Sunday night’s tragic vote in favor of pro-abortion health care, the question on everyone’s minds right now is: what’s next? So I’d like to take a minute to tell you about AUL’s plans.

But first let me begin with a tremendous thank you for your support in the firestorm of this last week. The overwhelming response AUL received was deeply meaningful to the entire AUL team and a great encouragement. You are partners with us, so we work knowing that we are a team in the effort.

Together, we were able to really dig in during the lead up to the vote. AUL Action's “Life Counts” campaign was so significant that the New York Times and Politico both featured it.

I spent all of Saturday and much of Sunday at the Capitol while the AUL legal team was working at our offices near the White House and another part of our team was on the Hill making sure that the remaining “undecideds” had AUL’s legal analysis. In fact, the Washington Examiner ran an oped by our Sr. VP, Bill Saunders, about the Executive Order which was cited on the floor of the House by Congressman Sensenbrenner.

In the end, however, it came down to four votes. The bloc of Representatives led by Congressman Stupak, who had committed to casting a pro-life vote, failed to withstand the intense pressure from Speaker Pelosi and the President.

I cannot adequately express how heavy my heart was as I made my way back to the AUL office after Congressman Stupak’s press conference where he had announced that he cut an empty deal with the President.

When I arrived, however, I found our legal team already finishing up our newest piece of model legislation: a bill that would allow states to prohibit health plans offered through the Exchanges in their states from offering abortion coverage. I hope that encourages you as much as it did me!

We’ve already heard from legislators in Georgia and Kansas who want to get this legislation passed in their states. And let me assure you - we have more responses in the works, both on the state and the federal level. There is much more to come and a number of ways for us to respond pro-actively and aggressively. With AUL’s history working in the states with legislators across this country, and in the courts, we are uniquely positioned to respond to this new threat to Life. And we will.

On Monday, we spent some time together as a team, reviewing the events of the weekend; I told everyone assembled that we needed to focus on two central questions: What are we made of? And what do we believe?

The answer to the first question came in the form of that ready-to-roll piece of legislation. Our team may be tired, but we are relentless and we will press forward, creating a path toward restoring our culture of life.

The second question will keep us focused beyond this temporary setback. The answer is this: we believe that abortion is the great evil of our age. A surrender to complacency and discouragement is not an option. We are engaged in the great human rights struggle of our time. Our fight is waged with the abolitionist movement and the civil rights movement as our great heritage.

So let me conclude with a final reflection on that heritage. I had the privilege of beginning the day on Sunday at a non-denominational and bi-partisan service held in the Capitol Rotunda. It was awe-inspiring to sit in Statuary Hall, surrounded by statues of the great heroes of our history and the leaders of today.

The service was organized by a friend of mine and a friend of Life, Congressman Randy Forbes. We began by singing “Amazing Grace.”

This is a hymn that has deep meaning for many of us. I used it to sing my children to sleep all through the years when I paced the floor with restless babies. Those nights seemed endless then, but they are a sweet memory now.

Our times of challenge pass. History moves quickly and we have to seize the moment. “Amazing Grace” was written by the reformed slave-trader, John Newton, the friend and mentor of the great abolitionist, William Wilberforce. As I heard those beautiful words, sung a capella, in the soaring space of Statuary Hall, I knew a great peace about the day yet to unfold in front of us.

Of course the day ended in stunning disappointment. But Wilberforce and Newton knew those times too. Yet ultimately, they prevailed.

We have no promise that we will see the same triumphant outcome that they did. Although I believe that we will if we persevere.

In that time of unknowing, we press on. Last week my uncle sent me a column written by one of my favorite writers, Paul Greenberg:

Even if nothing practical comes of standing up for principle, something will have been accomplished. Future generations will know that this whole culture of death, of which abortion has been so central a part, was not imposed on America without resistance. Call it bearing witness. Voices in the wilderness have been known to prove prophetic. Some day, some way they will be heard. Or maybe not. But at least they will have been raised.

Or as Walker Percy [once wrote]: “To pro-abortionists: According to the opinion polls, it looks as if you may get your way. But you’re not going to have it both ways. You’re going to be told what you’re doing.”

Today I say this, to Nancy Pelosi and Cecile Richards:

You may have gotten your way. But you’re not going to have it both ways.

Friends, come with me and let us bear witness. That is what’s next.

Yours for Life,

NOTICE - SPAMMERS

The man who sent this information is a computer tech. He spends a lot of time clearing the junk off computers for people and listens to complaints about speed. All forwards are not bad, just some. Be sure you read the very last paragraph.

By now, I suspect everyone is familiar with snopes.com and/ortruthorfiction.com for determining whether information received via email is just that: true/false or fact/fiction. Both are excellent sites.

Advice from snopes.com VERY IMPORTANT!!
1) Any time you see an email that says "forward this on to '10' (or however many) of your friends", "sign this petition", or "you'll get bad luck" or "you'll get good luck" or "you'll see something funny on your screen after you send it" or whatever --- it almost always has an email tracker program attached that tracks the cookies and emails of those folks you forward to. The host sender is getting a copy each time it gets forwarded and then is able to get lists of 'active' email addresses to use in SPAM emails or sell to other spammers. Even when you get emails that demand you send the email on if you're not ashamed of God/Jesus --- that is email tracking, and they are playing on our conscience. These people don't care how they get your email addresses - just as long as they get them. Also, emails that talk about a missing child or a child with an incurable disease "how would you feel if that was your child" --- email tracking. Ignore them and don't participate!

2) Almost all emails that ask you to add your name and forward on to others are similar to that mass letter years ago that asked people to send business cards to the little kid in Florida who wanted to break the Guinness Book of Records for the most cards. All it was, and all any of this type of email is, is a way to get names and 'cookie' tracking information for telemarketers and spammers -- to validate active email accounts for their own profitable purposes.

You can do your Friends and Family members a GREAT favor by sending this information to them. You will be providing a service to your friends. And you will be rewarded by not getting thousands of spam emails in the future!

Do yourself a favor and STOP adding your name(s) to those types of listing regardless how inviting they might sound! Or make you feel guilty if you don't! It’s all about getting email addresses and nothing more.

You may think you are supporting a GREAT cause, but you are NOT!

Instead, you will be getting tons of junk mail later and very possibly a virus attached! Plus, we are helping the spammers get rich! Let's not make it easy for them!

ALSO: Email petitions are NOT acceptable to Congress or any other organization - i.e. social security, etc. To be acceptable, petitions must have a "signed signature" and full address of the person signing the petition, so this is a waste of time and you are just helping the email trackers.

COMPASSION

Compassion

Compassion - (noun) com-pas-sion

American Heritage Dictionary -
Deep awareness of the suffering of another; coupled with the wish to relieve it.
sympathetic - sad concern for some misfortune, commiseration, condolence, empathy, pity, sympathy,

Hebrew - burst forth compassion, mercy.
Hebrew root - The bowels are the seat of compassion
AHLB - With in this wall is the family clan, a place of freedom.

Greek - Latin derivative -Sympathy is the Greek form.
Com - with, passion - suffer = Suffer with.

Luke 23:34A
Then Jesus said, "Father, forgive them for they do not know what they do."

Think about this for a minute; there is a INNOCENT man who just had to carry His own cross after being wiped, a thorn of crowns upon His head, His feet & hands pierced, dieing . And He looks up to God & ask for compassion on the people who is murdering Him.
I would be up there saying curse these jerks. I sure wouldn't be saying what Jesus said; "forgive them for they do not know what they do." What would you have said? Could you do it?

The words of Jesus was way beyond that any human heart is capable of giving. Our human heart cannot forgive our own family's for doing things alone somebody murdering us.

That is compassion!! Compassion reaches further than the law does; further than the demands of a judge. Compassion reaches to the heart of life, to the secret of our being. The compassion of Jesus was the divine secret that made Him lovable. As the Greek meaning He "suffer With". Which means he suffer with them! Not only with His own suffering He was suffering with them.

If you mix the Greek & Hebrew together He suffered deep down in His bowels for them hanging from that cross for you & me!!!

AMEN & AMEN

Isaiah 43:1-4 & 7

Israel's Only Savior

1 But now, this is what the LORD says—
he who created you, O Jacob,
he who formed you, O Israel:
"Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.

2 When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.

3 For I am the LORD, your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;
I give Egypt for your ransom,
Cush [a] and Seba in your stead.

4 Since you are precious and honored in my sight,
and because I love you,
I will give men in exchange for you,
and people in exchange for your life.

Comment on Health Care Bill.

Diana Holly commented on your status:

"The only Good thing i can see about this is maybe Obama will stop bulling everybody and get on to other things...oh no that most likely wont happen he will spend the next 6 months defending it!!!!
When you pass a bill that has so much hidden in it .....it has to be wrong!!!!
What good is this when many people don't have jobs so they cant pay for any thing...many are having trouble feeding their family how are they going to pay for health care?
Any bill that has had so many against it has some hidden problems....like i said God Help us because our government is not going to!"

ONE STATE - ILLIGAL ALIENS

his is only one State......If this doesn't open eyes, nothing will!

From the L. A. Times
1. 40% of all workers in L. A. County ( L. A. County has 10.2 million people) are working for cash and not paying taxes.
This is because they are predominantly illegal immigrants working without a green card.
2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.
3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.
4. Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal, whose births were paid for by taxpayers.
5. Nearly 35% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally.
6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.
7... The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.
8 Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.
9 21 radio stations in L. A. are Spanish speaking.
10. In L.. A. County 5.1 million people speak English, 3.9 million speak Spanish.. (There are 10.2 million people in L. A. County .)

(All 10 of the above facts were published in the Los Angeles Times)

Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops, but 29% are on welfare. Over 70% of the United States ' annual population growth(and over 90% of California , Florida , and New York ) results from immigration. 29% of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens .

We are fools for letting this continue

HOW CAN YOU HELP ?

Send copies of this letter to at least two other people. 100 would be even better.
This is only one State................

If this doesn't open your eyes nothing will, and you wonder why Nancy Pelosi wants them to become voters!

IF YOU DON'T AGREE JUST DELETE--IF YOU DO--PASS IT ON!! WHERE DO WE GET THESE MORONS?

Windfall Tax on Retirement Income

Adding a tax to your retirement is simply another way of saying to the American people, you're so darn stupid that we're going to keep doing this until we drain every cent from you. That's what the Speaker of the House is saying. Read below................

Nancy Pelosi wants a Windfall Tax on Retirement Income. In other words tax what you have made by investing toward your retirement. This woman is a nut case! You aren't going to believe this.

Madam speaker Nancy Pelosi wants to put a Windfall Tax on all stock market profits (including Retirement fund, 401K and Mutual Funds!

Alas, it is true - all to help the 12 Million Illegal Immigrants and other unemployed Minorities!

This woman is frightening.

She quotes...' We need to work toward the goal of equalizing income, (didn't Marx say something like this?), in our country and at the same time limiting the amount the rich can invest.' (I am not rich, are you?)

When asked how these new tax dollars would be spent, she replied:

'We need to raise the standard of living of our poor, unemployed and minorities. For example, we have an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in our country who need our help along with millions of unemployed minorities. Stock market windfall profits taxes could go a long way to guarantee these people the standard of living they would like to have as 'Americans'.'
(Read that quote again and again and let it sink in.) 'Lower your retirement, give it to others who have not worked as you have for it'.

Send it on to your friends. I just did!! This lady is out of her mind and she is the speaker of the house!

IF THEY WOULD BECOME LEGAL ALIENS, I WOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM AS THEY WOULD PAY TAXES.

In the House of Representative

The Minority Leader
JOHN BOEHNER - REPUBLICAN OF OHIO
SAID EVERYTHING TONIGHT!!! THAT THE SENATE & THE HOUSE SHOULD BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR VOTES TO THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES. NOT TO HIDE FROM THEIR PEOPLE IN THEIR STATE. THEY BOTH, THE SENATE & THE HOUSE NEITHER ONE WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THAT INSURANCE FOR THEMSELVES. DOES THAT ANSWER ANYTHING. BUT THE WANT US TO HAVE IT. DOUBLE STANDERS.
AND FOR AARP WHO HAS LIED TO SENIORS ABOUT THIS. MEDICAID & MEDICARE IS GONNA COST THEM EVEN MORE NOW!!
EVERYONE OF THEM HAS SOLD OUT AMERICA STARTING FROM OBEMA DOWN

ALL REPUBLICANS VOTE 178 PLUS 34 DEMOCRATS VOTED AGAINST PASSING IT. THE REST OF THE DEMOCRATS VOTED FOR IT.

AUL

Dear Friend of Life,

I am writing to you from inside the US Capitol building. And I wanted to give you an update and also tell you about a special last-minute need for action.

Tension is high here in the buildup to tonight's vote. As I write I can hear protestors outside. You may have heard the news reports that some pro-life Members of Congress are being offered a “deal” from the White House on health care reform legislation. That is true. In exchange for a “yes” vote on this bill, President Obama promises to issue an executive order that he claims will address our concerns about taxpayer funding for abortion.

Let me be clear, this will not prevent taxpayer-funded abortion.

Here is a statement I made to members of the press.

Here is detailed legal analysis from Senior AUL Action attorney Bill Saunders from today’s Washington Examiner.

Friends, please do NOT believe news reports that this fight is over. It isn't over until the last vote is counted!

If you live in their districts, please call these eight Members of Congress immediately to encourage them to stand strong for Life. Let them know that the only acceptable way to stop taxpayer-funded abortion is a NO vote. Implore them not to take any “deal” on an executive order.
Please also take a moment to forward this email to anyone you know who lives in these districts.

Matthew 1: 18 - 25 THE BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST

18 This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.
19 Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.
20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."
(NOTE) Jesus is the Greek form of Joshua, which means the LORD saves.)
22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:
23 "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" (means, "God with us.)
24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.
25 But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.

AUL

Dear Friend of Life,

Obama Planned Parenthood Thank you for standing alongside Americans United for Life Action in opposition to taxpayer-funded abortion. The outpouring of support that we've received in response to our e-mails this week has been remarkable!

Your words of encouragement and generous contributions have empowered Americans United for Life Action to lead the fight-across 41 target districts - against taxpayer-funded abortion as part of government-run health care. Your generous support has directly funded one of the most cutting-edge pro-life advocacy campaigns in history.

This campaign has included full-page newspaper ads in targeted districts - ads which were so compelling that they attracted the attention of the New York Times, who subsequently wrote an article about them.

We've also made many thousands of calls to voters in the 41 targeted Congressional Districts, and engaged grassroots activists through social networking sites such as Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.

And we've sent nearly one million emails (and over 170,000 text messages), since the President first released his "health care" proposal, urging our supporters to take a stand for life in their own communities.

Our senior legal team has also been hard at work clarifying the misinformation that has been spread about this health care reform bill. We believe Americans deserve to know the truth about what their hard-earned money is paying for.

Clearly we're making your voice heard. We are leading the debate. However, as long as President Obama and his pro-abortion allies in Congress continue to push this health care reform bill, every hour that passes brings us closer to the largest expansion of abortion since Roe v. Wade.

And AUL Action cannot sustain its current momentum without your continued support. Will you help us prevent the largest expansion of abortion since Roe v. Wade with another emergency contribution of $50, $100, $250 or more?

I'm counting on your immediate support - we are down to the last hours in this literal life or death struggle for the unborn.

P.S. We are so grateful for your support of AUL Action, but the fight is not over yet. Now is the time to press on, as we approach the crucial vote. Please support Americans United for Life Action with an emergency contribution of $50, $100, $250 or more to make a final stand against taxpayer-funded abortion. Thank you, as always, for your support.

CARROTS, EGGS, & COFFEE

Carrots, Eggs, & Coffee!

A carrot, an egg, and a cup of coffee...You will never look at a cup of
coffee the same way again.

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things
were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and
wanted to give up, She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as
one problem was solved, a new one arose.

Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and
placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she
placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed
ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil; without saying a word.

In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners.. She fished the carrots
out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a
bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her
daughter, she asked, ' Tell me what you see.'

'Carrots, eggs, and coffee,' she replied.

Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and
noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg
and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hardboiled egg

Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter
smiled as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked, 'What does it
mean, mother?'

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same
adversity: boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in
strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling
water, it softened and became weak The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer
shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the
boiling water, its inside became hardened. The ground coffee beans were
unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the
water.

'Which are you?' she asked her daughter. 'When adversity knocks on your
door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?

Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain
and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?

Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat?
Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial
hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my
shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff
spirit and hardened heart?

Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the
very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases
the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their
worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hour is
the darkest and trials are their greatest do you elevate yourself to
another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg or a
coffee bean?

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you
strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy.

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they
just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest
future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in
life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling.

Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone
around you is crying.

You might want to send this message to those people who mean something to
you (I JUST DID); to those who have touched your life in one way or another;
to those who make you smile when you really need it; to those who make you
see the brighter side of things when you are really down; to those whose
friendship you appreciate; to those who are so meaningful in your life.

May we all be COFFEE!!!!!!!

SENATOR ROBERTS OF KANSAS

March Roberts Report

March 19, 2010

Health Care Reform
Health care reform remains the top issue before Congress, and Senator Roberts remains disappointed by the manner in which this debate has occurred. “I voted against this bill in December because it will raise taxes in a struggling economy, cut Medicare by half a billion dollars and most importantly, do nothing to reduce the costs of health care for hardworking Americans. Finally, it will not ensure that all those in need have access to care,” Senator Roberts said.

“Health care reform remains a procedural mess. Leaders on Capitol Hill know that this bill doesn’t have the support of the public, based on a variety of opinion polls, so they are determined to ram it through. In the House, leaders are so desperate to enact the bill that they want to avoid asking the Members to vote on the unpopular health care reform that will reform one-sixth of our entire economy. Instead, they are preparing to substitute another bill for the vote and ‘deem’ health care passed as part of it. That has never been done for such a major piece of legislation and many scholars believe it is unconstitutional.”

“I believe we need real health care reform in America, but this bill is not the answer. It costs $940 billion, leaving 23 million people uninsured while raising taxes, cutting Medicare and adding unfunded mandates. I remain committed to responsible and practical health care reform, but this huge increase in government control in the bill – which won’t bring down the cost of care for families -- is not the answer.”

Kansas Bioscience Authority and NBAF
At the annual meeting in Washington, DC, Senator Roberts met with members of the Kansas Bioscience Authority (KBA) including many state officials including the Governor, the Kansas Congressional Delegation, and leaders from the state universities about KBA’s recent efforts to promote bioscience in Kansas. The top issue discussed was the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF) now being built at Kansas State University, which will be the nation’s premier research center to protect American food supply and agriculture economy. The current NBAF lab on Plum Island, New York, is aging, being phased out and moved to KSU. The Administration has demonstrated building the new NBAF is a priority and we are staying on schedule.

“As Honorary Chairman of the Kansas NBAF Task Force, we can really be proud of our teamwork that proved Kansas was the best site for this lab. With KBA’s help, we had a unity of effort from the federal to the local level, across parties, with private partners and community leaders to bring this tremendous opportunity to the people of Kansas that will have a $3.5 billion impact on the Kansas economy. Thank you to all these leaders for your strong commitment to NBAF and Kansas’ research capabilities in bioscience, which will lead to a stronger economy for our state for generations to come,” Senator Roberts said.

Additionally, Kansas State University recently earned a “Center of Excellence” designation by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for Zoonotic and Animal Disease Defense. Kansas State will share the designation with Texas A&M University, with Kansas State taking the lead on Biological Research and Education Programs and receiving $2 million per year for 6 years. Kansas State was one of three universities competing for the designation through a three-step process that involved external peer review, internal subject matter expert review and site visits.

“Once again, Kansas State has proven that our state is a leader in animal disease research. Kansas State has worked hard to earn this honor. I am proud of their efforts to further our national security,” Roberts said.

For more information on NBAF, visit http://www.nbafinkansas.org/ and for more information on the KBA, visit: http://www.kansasbioauthority.org/ .

Haskell Indian Nations University
Senator Roberts, Senator Brownback, Rep. Jenkins (R-KS) and Rep. Moore (D-KS) sent a letter to United States Secretary of Interior Ken Salazar regarding concerns from constituents and media reports at Haskell Indian Nations University (HINU) in Lawrence. As a member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee, Senator Roberts remains committed to looking into this situation.

“I have heard from many Kansans regarding the lack of leadership at Haskell and the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE),” Senator Roberts said. “In October, I forwarded a letter to the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) regarding troubling issues at Haskell. I question the logic of assigning a Haskell President to an office in Oklahoma when the duty is to the students and faculty in Lawrence. Currently, students have a limited number of accredited bachelor’s degree programs and there are reports accreditation visits have recently been canceled.”

“After meeting personally with Secretary Salazar, I am hopeful we can now get the answers to these serious questions. We must work to ensure Haskell students are getting the quality education they deserve. I look forward to working with the Sec. Salazar and the Bureau of Indian Education to ensure accountability and transparency on this important issue.”

Kansas Farm Bureau Speech
Senator Roberts recently addressed the annual Kansas Farm Bureau Delegation Meeting in Washington, DC. Roberts discussed budget cuts, the national debt, EPA regulations and defended production agriculture. To hear audio from Senator Roberts on this, go to: http://src.senate.gov/public/_files/radio/robertsactuality031010.mp3 .

“The total U.S. national debt is at $14 trillion, and the vast majority of taxpayers are fed up with it and so am I. Unfortunately the Administration continues to focus on agriculture spending for cuts instead of the failed stimulus plan. Farm program spending accounts for 0.16 percent of total federal spending. I believe the federal budget should be reduced, but not by placing a disproportionate burden on the backs of farmers, ranchers, and rural communities. Cutting farm programs in the midst of an economic downturn sends the wrong signal to rural America. It’s good to remember that each Kansas farmer feeds 144 people in a global marketplace.”

In addition, this week Senator Roberts and Senate Ag Committee Ranking Member Saxby Chambliss of Georgia and a group of Senators sent a letter to the President strongly opposing these proposed budget cuts in the farm safety net.

U.S. Census Reminder
A reminder that mandated by the U.S. Constitution, the United States Census Bureau counts every resident in the United States every 10 years. This year, the census forms were mailed to every residence earlier this month. The form’s questions relate to age, date of birth, and whether one rents or owns a home. It will not ask for Social Security numbers. As spelled out in the Constitution, the decennial census is used to determine a state’s Congressional representation, making it extremely important to fill out. The information collected by the Census Bureau is used strictly for statistical purposes. By law, personal information cannot be shared with anyone including other government agencies.

The regional Census Bureau call center is in Kansas City and the phone number is 816-994-2000. For general information from the Census Bureau, visit: http://2010.census.gov/2010census/ . If there are further questions about this process or the forms, please contact one of Senator Roberts’ offices at http://www.roberts.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?p=OfficeLocations .

Meeting the new EPA Administrator
Senator Roberts recently met the newly appointed Environmental Protection Agency’s Region 7 Administrator, Karl Brooks. Regional Administrator Brooks serves Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska for the EPA out of Kansas City, Kansas.

“EPA continues to work with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) toward a solution for the people of Treece.,” Senator Roberts said. “In October, Congress passed legislation that is now law, which I supported, giving authority to the EPA to voluntarily relocate the residents of Treece. I encouraged Administrator Brooks to visit Treece to see the situation firsthand. I am hopeful we are working toward a long-term and safe solution for the people of Treece.

“We also discussed several issues affecting agriculture in Kansas: pesticide regulations, rural dust, Flint Hills range burning, and water permits. I hope we can continue open communication on these regulations that affect our Kansas farmers and ranchers.”

Flood Preparedness
With spring upon us, Senator Roberts shared the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)’s recent information on flood preparedness tips in preparation for the possibility of seasonal flooding. Flooding is the nation’s most common natural disaster that can happen in any state, and the damages do not always amount to the level of a federally declared disaster. In many states in the high plains, including Kansas, flooding is the number one natural hazard for the region according to FEMA.

FEMA suggested the following steps in order to protect family and property: get an emergency supply kit, make a family emergency plan and get informed of flood warnings in your area.
For more information on flood risks and preparedness tips for homes and businesses from FEMA, visit www.ready.gov or www.fema.gov . The Kansas Division of Emergency Management also has a helpful website: http://www.kansas.gov/kdem/ .

Life Counts: Today May Be Your Last Chance

Dear Friend of Life:

You have heard from me often this week because we are facing the most dangerous pro-abortion threat since Roe v. Wade. For many of you, this is the single most significant threat to Life in your lifetime. I am hearing that the House of Representatives will vote on health care legislation this Sunday. If that happens, today may be your last chance to be heard.

For that reason, I am asking that you forward this email to everyone you know.

The district offices of many of your Representatives are not open during the weekend, so you need to find a way to make a personal visit today.

If you click below you will be taken to AUL Action’s homepage. There, you can download a flyer that we have created, write a personal message, and hand it to someone in your Congressman or Congresswoman’s local district office.

I want to continue to urge you to do this – your visit could make the difference. Tell your Representative that Life Counts and a NO vote is the ONLY vote on health care.

One more thing – we are looking to let everyone online know that Life Counts – and you can help. We have created an image that you can use on Twitter and Facebook to show your support for Life in this pivotal moment.

A Penny

That Little Penny In The Parking Lot

Remember this every time you pass that little penny in the parking lot.

I always thought that it was for good luck, but I love this version better.

I found a penny today Laying on the ground.

But it's not just a penny, This little coin I've found.

Found pennies come from heaven, that's what my Grandpa told me.

He said Angels toss them down. Oh, how I loved that story.

He said when an Angel misses you, They toss a penny down;

Sometimes just to cheer you up, To make a smile out of your frown.

So, don't pass by that penny When you're feeling blue.

It may be a penny from heaven That an Angel's tossed to you.

So, now pass this on to people you care about

And who you feel are Angels to you.

I just did..

An Angel is now watching over you.

Have A Great Day!

Dear Friend of Life,

Obama Planned ParenthoodWe're teetering on the precipice of the greatest tragedy since
Roe v. Wade.

In the next few days, under the guise of "health care" reform, President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, and Senator Reid - with the help of Planned Parenthood - could pass the largest expansion of abortion since Roe v. Wade ... and your tax dollars could be paying for it.

If they win, 2010 will be remembered as another 1973 - another milestone in their battle to promote abortion on every street corner in America.

We cannot let this happen.

Americans United for Life is leading the fight against taxpayer-funded abortion, and our need is urgent. Will you stand with us again by making one more emergency, tax-deductible contribution of $50, $100, $250 or more now, when our need is greatest?

It is a fact: "health care" reform could use your tax dollars to finance abortion-on-demand. Harry Reid's Senate has already passed this heinous bill. Now, President Obama and Speaker Pelosi are mere days away from rewarding their friends at Planned Parenthood by giving them access to your tax dollars.

In the next few days, Planned Parenthood may realize the pro-abortion movement's dream: passage of a program that allows your tax dollars to pay for abortion-on-demand. This dramatic addition of tax dollars would give them the funds they need to place their abortion "mega-marts" in communities across America.

Americans United for Life is calling on you to join the fight with an emergency, tax-deductible contribution of $50, $100, $250 or more.

I need you to stand firm with us today because the clock is ticking.

AUL Yours for Life,

P.S. I cannot overstate the urgency of this request. There is very little time left, as the House could vote on taxpayer-funded abortions at any time. Every hour counts. Please stand with us by making one more emergency, tax-deductible contribution of $50, $100, $250 or more. Thank you for your support.

LORD, PROP US UP!

LORD PROP US UP...

Every time I am asked to pray, I think of the old fellow who always prayed, 'Lord, prop us up on our leanin' side.' After hearing him pray that prayer many times, someone asked him why he prayed that prayer so fervently.

He answered, 'Well sir, you see, it's like this... I got an old barn out back. It's been there a long time; it's withstood a lot of weather; it's gone through a lot of storms, and it's stood for many years.

It's still standing. But one day I noticed it was leaning to one side a bit.

So I went and got some pine poles and propped it up on its leaning side so it wouldn't fall.

Then I got to thinking about that and how much I was like that old barn.. I've been around a long time..

I've withstood a lot of life's storms. I've withstood a lot of bad weather in life, I've withstood a lot of hard times, and I'm still standing too. But I find myself leaning to one side from time to time, so I like to ask the Lord to prop us up on our leaning side, 'cause I figure a lot of us get to leaning at times.

Sometimes we get to leaning toward anger, leaning toward bitterness leaning toward hatred, leaning toward cussing, leaning toward a lot of things that we shouldn't . So we need to pray, 'Lord, prop us up on our leaning side, so we will stand straight and tall again, to glorify the Lord.''

Mark 11:22-25 (New International Verson)

22 "Have faith in God," Jesus answered.
23 "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.
24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins."

Christ tells us to forgive others! God wants to forgive us of our sins but, He cannot forgive us, if we do not forgive others. We will tie the hands of God, when we cannot forgive others. Non-forgiveness restricts God from blessing us.
Most of the time the person whom we cannot forgive doesn't even know that you have something against them. And some could care less if you do.
I've seen people who uses non-forgiveness as a way of control. To hold somebody in bondage.
I've also seen people who wants themselves to be forgiven by others but, they themselves cannot forgive. They will only forgive when something is in it for themselves. Or should I say that is an act. They go behind that person back & say nasty things about that person (that is gossip). That isn't forgiveness at all. That right there is selfishness.
To forgive is love, as Christ loved us that He gave His life, to cover our sins (that was the only way in which sin could be covered is by shedding of blood)!
Be quick to forgive, do not let things fester!
If you feel you cannot forgive; ask God to help. The Holy Spirit is there to help you. Don't let hate or non-forgiveness destroy you. Open us your heart to God. Go to that person & ask for forgiveness. This shows that you love Christ more then yourself, so don't do harm to others. Love them! Forgive them as Christ has forgiven you!!!

AMEN & AMEN

God's Wings
After a forest fire in Yellowstone National Park , forest rangers began their trek up a mountain to assess the inferno's damage. One ranger found a bird literally petrified in ashes, perched statuesquely on the ground at the base of a tree. Somewhat sickened by the eerie sight, he knocked over the bird with a stick. When he gently struck it, three tiny chicks scurried from under their dead mother's wings. The loving mother, keenly aware of impending disaster, had carried her offspring to the base of the tree and had gathered them under her wings, instinctively knowing that the toxic smoke would rise. She could have flown to safety but had refused to abandon her babies. Then the blaze had arrived and the heat had scorched her small body, the mother had remained steadfast...because she had been willing to die, so those under the cover of her wings would live.
'He will cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you will find refuge.'

Congresswomen Lynn Jenkins

Joining House Republicans to Swear Off Congressional Earmarks
When I ran for Congress, my message was simple – the wasteful, out-of-control spending was bankrupting our nation and the earmark process was in need of repair. That message resonated with Kansans, and you sent me to Washington to protect your hard-earned dollars. While I have followed my strict criteria, many of my colleagues on both sides of the aisle have not and the system remains badly broken. That is why I was proud to be one of 35 Members who signed Rep. Jeff Flake’s petition calling for a conference-wide one-year earmark moratorium.

With a $1.6 trillion deficit facing our nation and with a Congress that has been on a year-long spending spree, it is time to stop the out-of-control federal government spending. My vote in conference for a moratorium on earmark requests was a critical step in restoring fiscal responsibility and discipline to Congress. I will continue fighting to protect Kansans’ hard-earned tax dollars and to ensure our children and grandchildren are not buried under an enormous mountain of this generation’s debt.

Voting to Support Our Armed Forces Serving in Afghanistan
The primary responsibility of the federal government is a strong national defense. As your representative in Washington, I will continue doing everything I can to make certain the men and women who fight to defend our nation have the resources and support they need to do their jobs. That is why I voted against a resolution in the House this week that called for the United States to immediately remove all of its troops from Afghanistan.

It would be dangerous and irresponsible to vote against our troops while they are fighting to protect us from harm. In August, President Obama called the war in Afghanistan the “war of necessity” just before announcing a new strategy that included sending 30,000 additional members of our Armed Forces to combat. Under the command of General McChrystal, the new strategy is already proving successful and this resolution would do nothing but embolden Taliban fighters in Afghanistan as well as in other nations.

It is unfortunate and disheartening that some in Congress would vote against the men and women fighting to protect the freedoms and way of life we enjoy here in the United States. I am very glad the resolution failed, and I will continue doing everything in my power to support our military.

Health Care Update
Speaker Pelosi continued pushing forward this week with President Obama’s plan for a government takeover of health care. Despite promising to have the most open, honest and ethical Congress in history, she continues cutting deals in exchange for “yes” votes. Unfortunately, that process is leaving you and me uncertain about what the final bill will look like. In remarks to the National Association of Counties this week, Speaker Pelosi admitted, "We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it."

The process the Democrat majority has used to force through their health care bill is very troubling, but that is just one of my concerns. This week I joined a group of my colleagues to introduce a resolution expressing the sense of the House that it is unconstitutional for the federal government to impose a mandate requiring all individuals to purchase health insurance. Nowhere in the Constitution did the founding fathers include a requirement that all individuals purchase health care so it is wrong for the Democrat leaders in Washington to force it on all Americans today. I will continue to oppose any plan that includes unconstitutional provisions as well as any plan that cuts Medicare, raises taxes or puts a Washington bureaucrat in charge of your health care.

Kansas is Growing as a National Leader in Biosciences
This week I was honored to meet with the leaders of the Kansas Bioscience Authority (KBA), Department of Homeland Security Under Secretary Tara O’Toole, Kansas Governor Mark Parkinson, the Kansas congressional delegation and leaders from our state’s government about the importance not losing any speed in bringing the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF) to Kansas. The bioscience research done in Kansas will not only protect human and animal health, but it will also protect our food supply and the entire agriculture economy.

Over the past few years, Kansas has established itself as a leader in the biosciences. The unique partnership between the federal and state governments, private industry and our state’s research universities has developed a strong and vibrant bioscience industry that employs thousands of Kansans and contributes greatly to our state’s economy. I look forward to continuing to work with KBA and with all leaders in the bioscience industry in Kansas to bring NBAF to our state and to continue advancing the entire bioscience industry.

I'm am sorry, I have been having trouble with my computer about transferring my teaching. It's leaving words out. So hopefully I will get it fixed shortly. Thank you for being patience with me. Hope to be up today or tomorrow. Pray for my system, it is an older one. God Bless
Fox News said that ACORN has gotten it's Fat Cow again as they're getting funding from your tax money. Acorn is still under investigation in Nevada State for wrong doings.

Stay on your State Senators, not to pass the Health Care Bill. The major of the people don't want it only about 10% does. So, Pres. Obama doesn't care about what the people want as he thinks that the American people are dumb.
Tells you what our government thinks of us. This country is not ran on dictator ship but democratize.
Pray for our country!! Pray for our government!!

Fund Raiser for Colon Cancer

A message from BARB ROBBINS barbrobbins1313@sbcglobal.net.

I’ve formed a team for the Undy 5000, a “brief” walk
to fight colon cancer. We’re taking to the streets and walking in
our underwear to help raise awareness and help prevent colon cancer. It
sounds silly, right? But we’re serious about the cause. Why
don’t you join me?

Join me for a day of fun, friendship, family and fundraising. Register
online today at www.Undy5000.org or follow the link at the bottom of
this email to join my team.
http://www.Undy5000.org

Participants in the Undy 5000 5K run will be drawing attention to their
bottoms - and colorectal cancer - by running or walking in their
underwear. Yes, underwear! Instead of the same boring old race T-shirt,
all participants will get official Undy 500 boxer shorts.

Why underwear? Because people don't like to talk about colorectal
cancer. And talking about it will save their lives.
Register today at www.Undy5000.org. If you can’t attend one of
the 2010 events in person, you can register for the Virtual Undy - and
fundraise in your Undy 5000 boxer shorts from the comfort of your own
home.
http://www.Undy5000.org

I hope you’ll join me on the Undy 5000 this year!

THE BAPTIST WHITE LIE CAKE

Have you ever told a white lie? You are going to love this, especially
all of the ladies who bake for church events:

Alice Grayson was to bake a cake for the Baptist Church Ladies'
Group in Tuscaloosa , but forgot to do it until the last minute.
She remembered it the morning of the bake sale and after
rummaging through cabinets, found an angel food cake mix &
quickly made it while drying her hair, dressing, and
helping her son pack up for Scout camp.

When she took the cake from the oven, the center had dropped
flat and the cake was horribly disfigured and she exclaimed,
"Oh dear, there is not time to bake another cake!" This cake
was important to Alice because she did so want to fit in at her
new church, and in her new community of friends. So, being
inventive, she looked around the house for something to build
up the center of the cake. She found it in the bathroom - a roll
of toilet paper. She plunked it in and then covered it with icing.

Not only did the finished product look beautiful, it looked perfect.
And, before she left the house to drop the cake by the church
and head for work, Alice woke her daughter and gave her some
money and specific instructions to be at the bake sale the moment it
opened at 9:30 and to buy the cake and bring it home.

When the daughter arrived at the sale, she found the attractive,
perfect cake had already been sold. Amanda grabbed her cell
phone & called her mom.

Alice was horrified-she was beside herself! Everyone would know!
What would they think? She would be ostracized, talked about,
ridiculed! All night, Alice lay awake in bed thinking about people
pointing fingers at her and talking about her behind her back.

The next day, Alice promised herself she would try not to think
about the cake and would attend the fancy luncheon/bridal shower
at the home of a fellow church member and try to have a good time.

She did not really want to attend because the hostess was a snob
who more than once had looked down her nose at the fact that Alice
was a single parent and not from the founding families of Tuscaloosa ,
but having already RSVP'd , she couldn't think of a believable excuse
to stay home.

The meal was elegant, the company was definitely upper crust old
south and to Alice 's horror, the cake in question was presented for
dessert! Alice felt the blood drain from her body when she saw the cake!
She started out of her chair to tell the hostess all about it, but before
she could get to her feet, the Mayor's wife said, "what a beautiful
cake!"

Alice, still stunned, sat back in her chair when she heard the
hostess (who was a prominent church member) say,
"Thank you, I baked it myself.."

Alice smiled and thought to herself, "God is good.”

PRAYER REQUEST

I have a couple of prayer request tonight.
Mike Burk - that the new treatment they have for him; which fights the cancer will work!
Agree with me that Mike will understand that by Jesus stripes (in which Jesus took on the cross for his healing), & to let him know that God loved him that much. That God sent His Son to receive those strips that Mike may be healed.

Jo Sparks - her husband left her tonight for another woman. Her husband Robert is a very selfish person, he is hooked on drugs & alcohol, doesn't want his kids or help raise them, or even pay child support. He has treated Jo really really bad. Jo was raised in a christian home, (pray that she will return to Christ) I'm trying to be objective on this as I am her mother. I've tried to talk with her, but she has closed the door to me on that subject. Robert has tried to molest his step-daughter, he drinks & uses drugs. He is a womanizer (not the first or even second time), doesn't want to work, and very self-centered.
Please, agree with me that one she will turn back to the Father & two Gods will for her, in what she should do about it. By Biblical principles she could divorce him, because of the adultery & about the step-daughter. Third, that this will not be passed to the next generation.

We ask you this Father, in Jesus Name & your word. Thank you for answered prayers!
Amen & Amen

FOCUS

With all the hatred here on earth, we really need to keep our eyes on the perfecter of faith. We all have been tempted to hate that person or something they've done. Or a group of people for what people have done centuries ago or longer then that. Why are we living in others past or even in ours??? If only we would fix our eyes on Jesus, to focus on Him & not the world or bad history. Do we not bleed when we are cut? We may have different traces of our family history but, aren't they the ones that lived it? You cannot change the past only you can change you & the future. I'm not talking about one certain group, I'm talking about all. Let the past stay in the past as you cannot go back & change it. Look toward Christ & the future. Change the way the world thinks. It only takes one to change the world for good or bad. Start by keeping your FOCUS
on our LORD & Savior, Jesus Christ the perfecter of our faith. I don't know what the color of God is, & I don't care. I'm so glad that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ for my sins (& that's more then one). And for your sins also!!!!
Find forgiveness in your heart! Ask, God for help, but ask. Don't let anything get between you & God!!!

HEBREW 12:2 - 28
2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

4In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. 5And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons:
"My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
6because the Lord disciplines those he loves,
and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son."[a]

7Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? 8If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons. 9Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live! 10Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. 11No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

12Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. 13"Make level paths for your feet,"[b] so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.
Warning Against Refusing God
14Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. 15See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many. 16See that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son. 17Afterward, as you know, when he wanted to inherit this blessing, he was rejected. He could bring about no change of mind, though he sought the blessing with tears.

18You have not come to a mountain that can be touched and that is burning with fire; to darkness, gloom and storm; 19to a trumpet blast or to such a voice speaking words that those who heard it begged that no further word be spoken to them, 20because they could not bear what was commanded: "If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned."[c] 21The sight was so terrifying that Moses said, "I am trembling with fear."[d]

22But you have come to Mount Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, 23to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the judge of all men, to the spirits of righteous men made perfect, 24to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

25See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven? 26At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, "Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens."[e] 27The words "once more" indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.

28Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, 29for our "God is a consuming fire."[f]
