Bank bill gets patched up, moves closer to passage
JIM KUHNHENN- Associated Press Writer - 6/30/2010 5:55:00 AMWASHINGTON- Congressional Democrats are inching closer to passage of a major rewrite of financial industry regulations, making fixes as they go.

House and Senate negotiators hoped for a vote in the House on Wednesday and to secure the votes of three straying Republicans in the Senate. The Senate vote, however, is not likely until after Congress' weeklong July 4 break.

The death of Sen. Robert Byrd, D-W.Va., this week and fresh objections from Republican Sens. Scott Brown of Massachusetts and Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe of Maine had threatened to derail the bill, already a year in the making.

Eager to salvage one of President Barack Obama's legislative priorities, Democrats altered the formula that would have paid for the legislation by eliminating a contentious $19 billion fee on large banks and hedge funds.

Instead, House and Senate negotiators, voting along party lines, agreed to pay for the bill with money generated by ending the unpopular Troubled Asset Relief Program _ the $700 billion bank bailout created in the fall of 2008 at the height of the financial scare.

It was a solution Democrats weren't keen on and most Republicans denounced. But in the Senate, with 60-vote thresholds needed to overcome procedural hurdles, a single senator has the leverage to change a bill. Brown, Collins and Snowe were three of 61 senators who had previously backed a Senate version of the bill.

Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn., chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, said he ran the proposal past the three Republicans to make sure they would support it. "But obviously, until they actually cast a vote, you never know," he said.

Even if the House approved the bill Wednesday, the Senate had little time to take it up this week. In a rare honor, Byrd was to lie in repose in the Senate chamber for six hours Thursday. That and work on other unfinished legislation were likely to push the bill into the week of July 12.

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs conceded as much Tuesday, but added, "I don't think there is a question now whether it will get done."

Besides the three Republicans, Democrats also were working to win the support of Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., who voted against the Senate version last month. She complained the bill was not tough enough on banks.

If unable to secure 60 votes, Democrats would have to wait for West Virginia's Democratic governor, Joe Manchin, to appoint Byrd's successor. Manchin has said he has no timetable for his decision.

The far-reaching legislation would rewrite financial regulations by putting new limits on bank activities, creating an independent consumer protection bureau and adding new rules for largely unregulated financial instruments.

Working with the White House and Treasury officials, Democrats on Tuesday replaced the bank and hedge fund fee with $11 billion that would be freed by ending the government's authority to use the $700 billion bank bailout fund, known as TARP.

The bailout fund was scheduled to expire in October. The new proposal would end it as of June 25, essentially cutting Congress' spending authority from $700 billion to $475 billion. That would create an accounting adjustment that would generate $11 billion.

The balance of the cost could be covered by increasing premium rates paid by commercial banks to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. to insure bank deposits. The premiums would increase from 1.15 percent of insured deposits to 1.35 percent by September 2020. The additional premium would be paid by banks with assets greater than $10 billion.

Republicans weren't pleased.

"The American taxpayer should be affronted by this little bit of sleight of hand and gamesmanship," said Sen. Judd Gregg, R-N.H. "What a piece of misleading, misdirected financial management this is."

Wisconsin Supreme Court upholds ban on same-sex 'marriage'
Associated Press - 6/30/2010 7:55:00 AM
MADISON, WI (AP) - The Wisconsin Supreme Court has upheld the state's constitutional ban on same-sex "marriage" and civil unions.

In a 7-0 ruling, the court on Wednesday ruled that the 2006 constitutional amendment was properly put to voters in a statewide referendum.

The court rejected a lawsuit that claimed the amendment violated a rule that limits referendum questions to a single subject. The lawsuit, filed by a voter opposed to the amendment, argued that homosexual marriage and civil unions were two different subjects.

Justice Michael Gableman says both sentences "carry out the same general purpose of preserving the legal status of marriage in Wisconsin as between only one man and one woman."
DISCLOSE Act would 'muzzle' pro-family groups
Allie Martin - OneNewsNow - 6/30/2010 5:00:00 AMThe American Family Association (AFA) is sounding a warning about a campaign finance bill before the U.S. Senate.

H.R. 5175, the bill is known as the "DISCLOSE Act," has been passed by the House and is expected to come up in the Senate this week.

According to Bryan Fischer, director of issue analysis for AFA, the "Democracy is Strengthened by Casting Light on Spending in Elections Act" would muzzle pro-family groups.

"This is a campaign finance reform -- quote, end quote -- bill. [But] what it's going to do is...censor and muzzle the voice of pro-life and pro-family organizations leading up to both primary and general elections," Fischer explains. "But the Democrats carved out a major exception for all their union buddies. The Sierra Club has an exemption, and the AARP has an exemption."

He thinks this measure was established so liberal groups with deep pockets could produce campaign ads, while conservative groups would not be allowed to do so. He adds that the bill would not allow court challenges until after the election.

"I think they know it's unconstitutional. They know it's going to be overturned as soon as it's challenged, and that's why they worked this provision in there to keep that challenge from happening until after the November elections," the AFA issue analysis director suspects.

In an Action Alert to its supporters on Monday, AFA states it is vital for concerned voters to contact their senators and encourage them to vote against the DISCLOSE Act. If passed, the bill would go into effect 30 days after being signed into law by President Obama -- "just in time to silence our message before the fall elections," says the Alert. AFA also points out that the "bill is so bad that even the ACLU has come out against it."

Obama's coffee house loophole
Michelle Malkin - Syndicated Columnist - 6/30/2010 9:25:00 AM
President Obama is finally uniting the left and the right -- in joint opposition to his administration's chronic sabotage of transparency and public disclosure rules. It won't be long before liberals disillusioned by Dear Leader's reveal-as-we-say-not-as-we-conceal policies link arms with me and join in on my two-year-old chant: Obama lied, transparency died.

Watchdog groups and Republicans on Capitol Hill want an investigation into hundreds of White House meetings with corporate lobbyists at DC coffee houses. K Street influence peddlers told The New York Times last week that they've met routinely with Team Obama officials over the past 18 months to discuss policy matters -- at Starbucks, Caribou Coffee, even on a side lawn -- with the express purpose of circumventing the public's right to know.

The Coffee House Ruse comes on top of the latest confession of White House non-disclosure from ex-Big Labor heavy Patrick Gaspard, Obama's chief domestic policy adviser, who failed to report a $40,000 pension payment from his old employer, the Service Employees International Union in New York. If they keep this up, sunlight-avoiding Obama officials will soon be cast as the next Twilight vampires.

"Lobbyists say some White House officials will agree to an initial meeting with a lobbyist and his client at the White House," the Times' once-zealous champions of Obama reported, "but then plan follow-up sessions at a site not subject to the visitors' log." Said one financial lobbyist who has met more than a half-dozen times off-campus with White House officials: "I'll call and say, 'I want to talk to you about X,' and they'll say, 'Sure, let's talk at Starbucks.'"

You see: When Obama promised to "change the way Washington works," what he really meant was changing where the usual Beltway backroom wheelers and dealers do their business. And when he talked about changing the "culture" in the nation's capitol, what he really meant was just changing titles.

In addition to carving out the Coffee House loophole and using personal e-mail accounts to communicate with the influence industry, White House officials have been advising lobbyists looking for administration jobs to de-register -- shedding their K Street status -- to get around Obama's vaunted lobbyist hiring ban. With more than 40 ex-lobbyists working in the administration, Obama's no-lobbyists executive order already has more holes in it than a moth-eaten crocheted sweater.

The self-puffery of the double-talker-in-chief on disclosure ethics is inversely proportional to the amount of real transparency he has delivered. In January, irked by criticism of private healthcare meetings with Big Labor cronies at the Oval Office, Obama lectured Americans that "it is important to know that the promises we made about increased transparency we've executed here in 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue." His legal counsel trumpeted the release of more than 25,000 White House visitor logs (many incomplete, vague and useless) as "a milestone in the president's commitment to change Washington. The president believes that this and our many other transparency initiatives promote accountability and keep American democracy vital." While Obama's cabinet engaged in the same old precedented meetings with lobbyists, his propagandists patted themselves on the back for providing unprecedented access:

"We are excited about the visitor records policy not only because we are breaking new ground for this administration but also because we are establishing a new standard for all future administrations. We know of no comparable initiative in the history of the White House."

Puff, puff, puff. The Obama administration's incomparable hype and hypocrisy have at last proved too much for good-government liberals. Washington-based Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) has asked the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform to investigate and hold hearings on the Coffee House loophole. CREW head Melanie Sloan lambasted the Democratic White House: "This is what all the administration's anti-lobbyist rhetoric gets you -- less transparency. Rather than being open and clear about who is influencing White House policy, the White House is trying to hide who it's really talking to. Even worse, the public is being suckered with lofty rhetoric about the evils of the same lobbyists White House officials are meeting with."

Now that citizen activists are staking out DC caffeine hot spots, the White House/special-interest trysts may soon be headed to Washington street corner hot dog stands and taquerias. Keep your eyes and ears open. The next cap-and-tax exemption or stimulus slush fund may be hammered out in a public restroom stall or on a Metro subway seat next to you. On the upside, coffee-gate is rousing slow-learning Americans from their Obama-as-Messiah stupor. The best part of waking up is reality in your cup.
GAO: Abortion-promoting groups got nearly $1 billion in federal funds

By Nancy Frazier O'Brien
Catholic News Service

WASHINGTON (CNS) -- Six organizations that perform or promote abortion received at least $967 million in federal funding in fiscal years 2002 through 2009, according to a new report from the Government Accountability Office.

The report, made public June 16, looked at government funding given to Advocates for Youth, the Guttmacher Institute, International Planned Parenthood Federation, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Population Council of the United States, and Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States.

GAO had been asked for the report by Rep. Pete Olson, R-Texas, and 30 other members of Congress, including five senators.

"With the national debt over $13 trillion -- costing every American $118,000 -- we must apply strict scrutiny to every federal dollar allocated," said Olson at a June 16 news conference at the U.S. Capitol.

"That this tax money is spent by organizations that offend the majority of Americans (who oppose taxpayer funding of groups that promote or perform abortions) only further justifies the need for this alarming report," he added.

The GAO report showed the following government funding:

-- Advocates for Youth, $8.7 million.

-- Guttmacher Institute, $12.7 million.

-- International Planned Parenthood Federation, $3.9 million.

-- Planned Parenthood Federation of America, $657.1 million.

-- Population Council of the United States, $284.3 million.

-- Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States, $300,000.

The totals for Advocates for Youth, International Planned Parenthood, and the Sexuality Information and Education Council covered the years 2002-2009, while the totals for the other three were from 2002 to 2008.

Nearly all the reported expenditures in the report (about $942 million) were by programs administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or the U.S. Agency for International Development. The remaining $25 million came from programs administered by the U.S. departments of Housing and Urban Development, Agriculture or Justice.

USAID also shipped "contraceptive commodities" valued at $7.6 million to affiliates of the International Planned Parenthood Federation during the time period studied, but that spending was not included in the total, the report said.

"Additionally, for federal fiscal years 2002 through 2005, complete obligation and disbursement data for awards made through USAID's overseas-based missions were not available," the GAO said in the report. "As a result, obligations and disbursements in this report may understate the actual amount of federal funds provided to the selected organizations and their affiliates."

The GAO noted that during most of the time covered by the report, the Mexico City policy was in effect. It required foreign nongovernmental organizations receiving federal funds for family planning to agree that they would not actively promote or provide abortions as a method of family planning in other countries. The policy was revoked in January 2009 by President Barack Obama.

Rep. Chris Smith, R-N.J., said U.S. funding of "the abortion industry at home and abroad" has significantly increased since Obama's election.

"When Obama shredded the Mexico City policy, he opened the floodgate of taxpayer funds to pro-abortion NGOs" such as the International Planned Parenthood Federation, Smith added at the June 16 news conference. "It is time for Americans and especially Congress to take a second look and defund" those organizations.

Earlier in the month, Smith, a Catholic who co-chairs the Congressional Pro-Life Caucus, expressed opposition to a Senate committee's vote to overturn the longtime ban on abortions in military medical facilities.

"Our military facilities should be a place of hope and healing, not intentional destruction of innocent human life," he said. "This amendment will mean that as many as 260 military medical facilities worldwide will now be in the abortion business."

The Senate Armed Services Committee recently voted 15-12 in favor of an amendment to the annual Department of Defense authorization bill that would delete a ban on abortion in military facilities signed into law by President Bill Clinton in 1996.

Smith said he did not expect the House, which has already passed the Defense bill without the amendment, to approve the change if the legislation comes back from the Senate with the amendment.

PHILIPPIANS 3

003:001 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe.
003:002 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.
003:003 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
003:004 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:
003:005 Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;
003:006 Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
003:007 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
003:008 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
003:009 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
003:010 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
003:011 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
003:012 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
003:013 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
003:014 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
003:015 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
003:016 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.
003:017 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.
003:018 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
003:019 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
003:020 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
003:021 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

Israeli Arab nurseries raising up new jihadists

The Knesset's Education Committee on Tuesday learned that there are some 500 Arab nurseries and kindergartens operating illegally in northern Israel, and that at least 100 of them are being run by the jihadist Islamic Movement.

Education Ministry representative Dr. Orna Ben-Simhon said the licenses of these day cares and schools had been revoked, but that they continued to operate anyway.

Israeli Arab lawmakers at the hearing insisted that the schools, where children are taught that Israel is an illegitimate entity, operate in full accordance with the law, but are unfairly targeted on racist grounds.

The Islamic Movement is a radical organization that denies Israel's right to exist and has in the past encouraged Israeli Arabs to join Palestinians in the use of terrorist violence against their Jewish countrymen.

Gaza rocket destroys Israeli factory

Palestinian terrorists operating out of the Gaza Strip fired a rocket into southern Israel early Wednesday morning seriously damaging a local packaging plant. There were no injuries in the attack, which occurred during the pre-dawn hours.

Israel closed the nearby Kerem Shalom border crossing into Gaza amid warnings of further rocket attacks. The crossing is used to bring huge amounts of humanitarian aid into Gaza every day.

There has been a significant rise in Palestinian mortar and rocket attacks from Gaza over the past two weeks.

Egyptian soldiers kill African woman on Israel border

Egyptian border guards on Tuesday shot dead an Eritrean woman on the Sinai Peninsula's border with Israel. Two other women and a young child who were with the murdered migrant were captured.

Egyptian forces this year alone have killed 19 Africans seeking asylum or work in Israel.

Hundreds of Africans try to reach Israel every year, and while Israel has taken many in, it insists that Egypt must do more to stem the flow of migrants through its territory.

However, the brutal tactics of the Egyptian border guards has been vehemently protested by some human rights groups. Oddly enough, there have been no UN Security Council meetings on the subject or official calls for a commission of inquiry.

Gazans forced to live in darkness due to lack of electricity

The residents of the Gaza Strip have been receiving electricity to their homes for only 12 out of 24 hours every day over the past couple weeks. And sometimes not even that.

So why hasn't this story made headline news around the world? Simple, Israel isn't the cause of the blackout.

The current situation is the result of an industrial fuel embargo on Gaza by the West Bank-based Palestinian Authority, which refuses to deliver any more fuel to Gaza until the territory's Hamas rulers pay their bill.

Hamas insists it simply does not have the money. The European Union used to foot the bill for the industrial fuel to power Gaza's main generator, but stopped doing so last November.

French news agency AFP noted that the international community is always quick to condemn Israel over the hardships faced by Gazans, but rarely if ever has anything to say when Palestinians themselves are the perpetrators of such injustices.

FROM ISREAL TODAY -- Hizballah teaming up w/Mexicans to infiltrate U.S>

Hizballah teaming up with Mexicans to infiltrate US?

Lebanese terrorist militia Hizballah is eager to threaten not only Israel, but its allies in the US as well. What better way to reach them than to team up with the top infiltrators of American borders, the Mexican drug cartels?

According to congresswoman Sue Myrick (R-NC), Hizballah agents are coming to Latin America, learning Spanish and then working with drug cartels in the Mexico-US border region to obtain falsified US entry passes. She warned Hizballah could start threatening the southern US from Mexico just as it threatens northern Israel from Lebanon.

Myrick, who is a member of the House Intelligence Committee, said she has called on Homeland Security to investigate the matter.

Hizballah has been operating drug trafficking rings in South America for years. The largest operate along the Brazil-Argentina-Paraguay border.

Venezuela's Hugo Chavez has also befriended the terror group. Several years ago he invited Hizballah to operate freely in his country.
Israel captures 'most dangerous' Arab terror cell

Israeli security officials approved for publication on Monday the recent capture of a seven-man Israeli Arab terrorist cell from the northern town of Nazareth with close ties to Al Qaeda and Global Jihad.

A top police official who spoke to The Jerusalem Post called the group, which is made up of young Arabs all in their early twenties, "one of the most dangerous cells we have uncovered."

The seven confessed to the brutal murder of an Israeli taxi driver last year, as well as numerous smaller attacks. They were also planning a series of terrorist attacks in the near future, including the abduction of Israeli soldiers.

The cell was established two years ago using Al Qaeda propaganda and teachings as its foundation. Additional information on how to prepare weapons and carry out attacks was all gleaned from the Internet.

AUL President to Testify at Kagan Hearings

Dr. Charmaine Yoest, AUL’s President & CEO, has been called to testify this week before the Senate Judiciary Committee at the confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee about the nomination of Solicitor-General Elena Kagan to the highest court in the land,” Dr. Yoest said. “Since President Obama announced his pick for the Supreme Court in May, AUL’s team of pro-life legal experts has been releasing ‘Kagan File’ memos revealing the nominee’s support of unrestricted abortion, her radical associations, and her agenda-driven judicial philosophy. I look forward to sharing our extensive legal research with the committee’s members.”

Views on Illetal Aliens

When I say things about Illegal Aliens. Their not just people from Mexico. Their from around the world. If people came to this great country, & stay as illegal, that is totally wrong. They use our country & it's resources without paying in to anything. Food stamps, social security, housing, insurance, ect..
Then when legal people need it; it isn't there for them. Legal Americans are treated like their the illegal aliens. Our own people, when they need help should get the benefits, not someone who plays with being require to become an Illegal Aliens, they love their country that they even take our flags down & put theirs above it. That tells you where they are. Some comes even to terrorize & kill Americans; the government needs to have back grounds on all people. Nobody should be able to rape this country, that inclues our government, our President (Bush & Chaney & Obama),judges on the Supreme court court, illegal aliens. What is really bad is our gov't.
I don't hate people from other countries.

That is my view on Illegal Aliens. Why can't they become Americans? Other countries would kill them, we just want them to become Americans & pay taxes also, to learn our language which is English. If we went to another country we would have to learn their language. So, what is the differance??????????

I wish this was untrue, and if you find it is please let me know.

You really need to read; this starts next year.
This is supposed to be part of the new Health Care Bill.
The originator of this notice contacted his Congressman about House bill HR3590 the health care bill, that just passed, and asked for a summary of changes. An aid directed him to go to www: thomas.gov ; enter HR3590 in the search Box and look for summaries.
Starting in 2011 (next year folks) your W 2 tax form sent by your employer Will be increased to show the value of what ever health insurance you are Given by the company. It does not matter if that's a private concern or Governmental body of some sort. If you're retired ? So what; your gross Will go up by the amount of insurance you get.

The dollar value (cost of what the company pays for your insurance) will be considered income and added to your gross pay. You will be taxed on the total.

You will be required to pay taxes on a large sum of money that you have never seen.

Take your tax form you just finished and see what $15,000 or $20,000 additional gross does to your tax debt. That's what you'll pay next year.
For many it also puts you into a new higher bracket so it's even worse.

This is how the government is going to buy insurance for 15 % that don't have insurance and it's only part of the tax increases.

Not believing this I researched the summaries and here's what I read:

On page 25 of 29 :

TITLE IX REVENUE PROVISIONS- SUBTITLE A: REVENUE OFFSET PROVISIONS-(sec .
9001 , as modified by sec. 10901)
Sec.9002. "requires employers to include in the W-2 form of each employee the aggregate cost of applicable employer sponsored group health coverage that is excludable from the employees gross income."

Joan Pryde is the senior tax editor for the Kiplinger letters. Go to
Kiplingers and read about 13 tax changes that could affect you. Number 3 is what I just told you about.

Why am I sending you this ?.
The same reason I hope you forward this to every single person in your address book.
People have the right to know the truth because an election is coming in November.

WALKING IN THE SPIRIT

WALKING IN THE SPIRIT

The power of having the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives. This is the fruit of the Spirit. Paul tells us in Galatians 5 if we walk in the Spirit we shall not fulfill the lust of our flesh of the Conflict Between the Spirit & the Flesh, the Works of the Flesh, & the Fruit of the Spirit. All are in Galatians 5:16 - 26

Galatians 5:16 - 18 (Conflict Between the Spirit & the Flesh)
16) I say then; Walk in the Spirit & you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
17) For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, & Spirit against the flesh, & these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.
18) But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

Galatians 5:19 -21 (Works of the Flesh)

20) idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissension, heresies,
21) Envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, & the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Galatians 5:22 - 26 (Fruit of the Spirit)
22) but the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.
23) gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
24) And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions & desires.
25) If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26) Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

Now to break down the Fruits of the Spirit & show where they go.
- The first three goes for God, Love, Peace, & Joy. God really looks for these in a Christians; as these are acceptable to God
- The next three are toward man Goodness, Long-suffering, Gentleness; this part of it is our-ward life, people we come in contact with.
- The next three are for self, Faith, Temperance, and Meekness.

To produce love, joy, & peace the Holy Spirit has to do it. As humans it is not in our nature. We may try to counterfeit it, but we cannot produce it. It is an act of God. We can only hold love, joy, & peace by receiving Jesus Christ, by faith into our heart. Which in turn the Spirit is there & if we have the Spirit we have the fruits of the Spirit. You know if Christians & the Church would live the way the church of God is to be acting; what world this would be!! We would be the mightiest power this world or any world has ever seen. We have really lowered our standards of life!

2 Peter 1:5 - 8
5) But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge,
6) to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness,
7) to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.
8) For if these things are yours & abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We need to adorn the doctrine of Jesus Christ our LORD within our lives & to grow in the fruits of the Spirit. With just seeing our life of love, joy, peace, gentleness, goodness, & temperance in our language, our expressions, our eating, our drinking, our habits, our home life, our work, & our guarded expression. In other words as Jesus Christ would have us live in the fruits of the Spirit. We then could save our neighbors, our friends, & our family. Plus even people we don't know, just by living our life in the fruits of the Spirit!! Being the same; not hot one day & then cold the next day; being the same each day. God wanted the church to be the same ALL the time.

OKLAHOMA MAY JUST BE THE PLACE TO LIVE!

OKLAHOMA MAY JUST BE THE PLACE TO LIVE!

An update from Oklahoma :

Oklahoma law passed, 37 to 9, had a few liberals in the mix, an amendment to place the Ten Commandments on the front entrance to the state capitol. The feds in D.C., along with the ACLU, said it would be a mistake. Hey this is a conservative state, based on Christian values...! HB 1330

Guess what........... Oklahoma did it anyway.

Oklahoma recently passed a law in the state to incarcerate all illegal immigrants, and ship them back to where they came from unless they want to get a green card and become an American citizen. They all scattered. HB 1804. Hope we didn't send any of them to your state. This was against the advice of the Federal Government, and the ACLU, they said it would be a mistake.

Guess what........... Oklahoma did it anyway.

Recently we passed a law to include DNA samples from any and all illegals to the Oklahoma database, for criminal investigative purposes. Pelosi said it was unconstitutional. SB 1102

Guess what........ Oklahoma did it anyway.

Several weeks ago, we passed a law, declaring Oklahoma as a Sovereign state, not under the Federal Government directives. Joining Texas,

Montana and Utah as the only states to do so. More states are likely to follow: Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, the Carolina's, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, West Virginia, Mississippi, Florida. Save your confederate money, it appears the South is about to rise up once again HJR 1003

The federal Government has made bold steps to take away our guns. Oklahoma, a week ago, passed a law confirming people in this state have the right to bear arms and transport them in their vehicles. I'm sure that was a set back for the criminals (and Obamaites). Liberals didn't like it -- But .....

Guess what......... Oklahoma did it anyway.

Just this month, the state has voted and passed a law that ALL driver's license exams will be printed in English, and only English, and no other language. They have been called racist for doing this, but the fact is that ALL of the road signs are in English only. If you want to drive in Oklahoma , you must read and write English. Really simple.

By the way, Obama does not like any of this.

Guess what.....who cares... Oklahoma is doing it anyway.

WOMAN & A FORK

There was a young woman who had been diagnosed with a terminal illness and had been given three months to live. So as she was getting her things "in order," she contacted her Pastor and had him come to her house to discuss certain aspects of her final wishes.

She told him which songs she wanted sung at the service, what scriptures she would like read, and what outfit she wanted to be buried in.

Everything was in order and the Pastor was preparing to leave when the young woman suddenly remembered something very important to her.

"There's one more thing," she said excitedly.

"What's that?" came the Pastor's reply.

"This is very important," the young woman continued. "I want to be buried with a fork in my right hand.."

The Pastor stood looking at the young woman, not knowing quite what to say.

That surprises you, doesn't it?" the young woman asked.

"Well, to be honest, I'm puzzled by the request," said the Pastor.

The young woman explained. "My grandmother once told me this story, and from that time on I have always tried to pass along its message to those I love and those who are in need of encouragement. In all my years of attending socials and dinners, I always remember that when the dishes of the main course were being cleared, someone would inevitably lean over and say, 'Keep your fork.' It was my favorite part because I knew that something better was coming.....like velvety chocolate cake or deep-dish apple pie. Something wonderful, and with substance!'

So, I just want people to see me there in that casket with a fork in my hand and I want them to wonder "What's with the fork?" Then I want you to tell them: "Keep your fork, the best is yet to come."

The Pastor's eyes welled up with tears of joy as he hugged the young woman good-bye. He knew this would be one of the last times he would see her before her death. But he also knew that the young woman had a better grasp of heaven than he did. She had a better grasp of what heaven would be like than many people twice her age, with twice as much experience and knowledge. She KNEW that something better was coming.

At the funeral people were walking by the young woman's casket and they saw the cloak she was wearing and the fork placed in her right hand. Over and over, the Pastor heard the question, "What's with the fork?" And over and over he smiled.

During his message, the Pastor told the people of the conversation he had with the young woman shortly before she died. He also told them about the fork and about what it symbolized to her. He told the people how he could not stop thinking about the fork and told them that they probably would not be able to stop thinking about it either.

He was right. So the next time you reach down for your fork let it remind you, ever so gently, that the best is yet to come.
_____________________________________________________________________________
SO, GET YOUR FORKS READY AS THE BEST IS YET TO COME!! HEAVEN IS A WONDERFUL PLACE!
WE HAVE AN AWESOME GOD!!YES, HE REIGNS!
SO, GET THAT FORK READY - AS THE BEST IS YET TO COME!! TO KNOW GOD! HE DOES HAVE A TABLE FOR US. TO KNOW HIM & WAITING FOR THE PROMISE LAND. SO, YES THE BEST IS YET TO COME.

A WAKE-UP CALL FROM ONE NEWS NOW

A wake-up call
Dr. Michael Youssef - Guest Columnist - 6/29/2010 8:50:00 AM
Every freedom-loving person should be extremely alarmed at the dreadful trend of silencing Christians from the streets of London to the streets of Dearborn, Michigan. In both places, Christians were arrested and imprisoned for preaching the gospel on public streets...in what Muslims considered to be Islamic territories.

When four young Christian men were recently arrested and imprisoned in Dearborn, Michigan, for witnessing to their faith at an Islamic festival, it was hailed as a victory in some Islamic circles -- sharia law has come to America.

Never mind the First Amendment...this is the beginning of its demise by overwhelming Islamic ideology that is hell-bent on silencing Christians and Jews from speaking of their faith.

In Arab countries where Christians make up a sizeable minority, Christians are not allowed to speak of their faith outside of the church walls. Now it is happening in America's heartland.

The silencing, humiliation, and reduction of Christians and Jews to second class citizens is as old as Islam itself. This Islamic doctrine is known as the "Dhimmis". It was articulated and implemented by "Omar," the second successor of their prophet Mohammad. He articulated this doctrine when he invaded Christian lands in an effort to subjugate Christian residents who were captured by the sword.

This is the third wave of Jihad. The first wave was in the middle 600s. The second wave was by the Turks in the 1700s. In this third wave, Muslims believe they can advance by taking advantage of Western ignorance of their ideology coupled with Western sympathies and a penchant for fairness.

To add insult to injury, the Counsel of Islamic Nations is pushing hard in the United Nations to implement an international law that would outlaw the preaching of the gospel anywhere in the world. As if this is not chilling enough, the Dearborn incident is now considered to be a good omen for Islamic take over.

Unless freedom-loving people wake up now, their children will wake up to discover that they are living under sharia law.

Detroit Transit Sued for Nixing SIOA ‘Leaving Islam?’ Bus ads
June 1, 2010
By admin
Washington Times:

A bus-ad campaign that seeks to offer resources to those considering leaving Islam already has stirred up controversy in Miami and New York, but its next city may create the most fireworks – Detroit, the U.S. metropolitan area with the heaviest concentration of Middle Easterners.

The Detroit-area bus authority has refused to run the ads from Stop Islamization of America, an organization headed up by conservative activist and anti-jihad blogger Pamela Geller, prompting SIOA to file a federal lawsuit Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

Mrs. Geller said the transport authority’s refusal to run her ads violates her First Amendment right of free speech, and she will take the lawsuit to the Supreme Court if necessary.

“It is against the law, and I tell you, those ads will go up whether they like it or not,” Mrs. Geller said.

SIOA initially encountered a similar refusal in Miami, but Mrs. Geller said a lawsuit prompted the transport-authority there to relent in less than 24 hours.

Several calls to the Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation, which operates the bus system serving Detroit and two surrounding counties, were not returned Thursday.

Dawud Walid, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations of Michigan, said he expects that even if the ads do run in Detroit, they will not elicit any response besides puzzlement. The Detroit area, centering on Dearborn, is home to a quarter-million Muslims, whom Mr. Walid does not expect to react favorably to the presence of SIOA’s ads in their city.

“If she’s planning to put those Islamophobic ads in Detroit, she’s wasting her time,” Mr. Walid said.

The Detroit area also has a large Arab and Middle Eastern Christian population, centering on suburbs north of the city proper.

Mrs. Geller said SIOA began its national city-by-city ad campaign in response to bus ads in Florida inviting people to convert to Islam.

[..]

But a public educator in Dearborn, speaking on the condition of anonymity owing to fear of retribution, said there is a climate of fear in the Detroit area’s Muslim community.

“The fear is palpable. I know there are things I am ‘not allowed’ to say. A discussion of religion with a Muslim person is often prefaced by the statement, ‘Dont say anything about the Prophet [Muhammad].’ In free society, open and honest conversation is not usually begun by a prohibition. Threats and intimidation are just part of life here.”

CAIR’s denial of the dangers of apostasy are part of the reason behind Mrs. Geller’s campaign, which she defined as a religious-freedom issue.

“We’re not encouraging people to leave Islam,” she said.

Whether or not the ads actually encourage apostasy, the furor elsewhere already have received a considerable amount of negative attention from American Muslims.

“The ads are to serve a purpose – to incite Islamophobia,” Mr. Walid said. “The average person here will see them for what they are.”

The Dearborn educator, however, said the ads serve a positive purpose.

“This kind of campaign and Americans support of it could assure these frightened Muslims that they have the rights that every other American has, that they will be protected, not abandoned or exposed to their leaders should they act upon their desire to be free,” the teacher said

PayPal not much of a pal to Islam critics
Chad Groening - OneNewsNow - 6/29/2010 6:00:00 AMTwo Islam watchdogs have terminated their relationships with a secure payment website after it tried to intimidate them for telling the truth about Islam.

Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer were using PayPal to collect secure donations for their websites, including Stop Islamization of America, the Freedom Defense Initiative ,and Geller's blog Atlas Shrugs. But PayPal began to restrict donators' ability to give to those websites because it apparently objected to the sites' content. Spencer reports that that did not sit well with readers of Atlas Shrugs.

"The readers started to write in to PayPal and canceled their accounts, and there was such an avalanche of angry e-mails that they received that ultimately they backed off and they notified us that they would restore the accounts," he reports.

"But at this point, I'm not interested in that. I think that we don't need to go hat in hand to people who are going to be buying into the leftist and Islamic supremacist lines that there's something wrong with what we're doing or that it's racist or bigoted or all that nonsense," Spencer contends.

He goes on to explain that he and Geller have now switched all their sites, including his own Jihad Watch, to G-Pal, which was created by pro-Second Amendment rights advocates who were upset with PayPal's discrimination against guns.

PSALM 3 FROM 1611 kjv BIBLE

003:001 Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.
003:002 Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.
003:003 But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
003:004 I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.
003:005 I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.
003:006 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.
003:007 Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.
003:008 Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.

Elena Kagan under fire for idolizing Israeli judge

Controversial US Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan is likely to have her appointment as one of the highest judges in American blocked for a number of reasons, not least of which is her adoration for former Israeli Chief Justice Aharon Barak.

In 2006, Kagan, who was at the time dean of Harvard Law School, introduced Barak at a school function as "my judicial hero." She went on to say that for her, Barak represented exactly what the judiciary should and could become.

For her Republican and conservative detractors, that was enough to disqualify Kagan.

Former US Supreme Court nominee Robert Bork said that Barak "may be the worst judge on the planet," and Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama, the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, said that Kagan's idolizing of him "might provide real insight into her approach to the law."

Barak was controversial during his time as president of Israel's High Court of Justice, and became even more so when he stepped down in 2006. Barak held firmly to a belief that the judicial branch should trump all other branches of government, and be extremely activist, rather than simply acting as a stabilizer.

In his book "The Judge in a Democracy," Barak applauded the fact that over the past couple decades the judiciary in many Western nations had gained such significant power. No where is that more true than in Israel, where the High Court of Justice now appoints its own judges and enjoys nearly limitless veto power over the other branches of government, conditions that Barak was largely responsible for creating.

In short, Barak believes that democracy should be constitutionalized. While the term sounds reasonable, in practice it effectively puts the bulk of power in a democratic society in the hands of judges. Right-leaning Israelis who were constantly at the mercy of Barak's left-leaning views can attest to the near-tyrranical situation that resulted.

Palestinian TV host: Jews are 'our enemies'

Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas' reassurances to US President Barack Obama that there is no anti-Israel incitement in official Palestinian media were further contradicted last week when the host of a Palestinian Authority TV program prompted young interviewees to denounce not only Israel, but "the Jews."

During a program about Palestinian terrorists jailed by Israel, the female host interviewed the younger sister of a Palestinian serving 13 months in an Israeli prison for security crimes. The host asked the girl if she and her family are "bothered" by the Israeli guards when they visit her jailed brother. When she answers in the affirmative, the host presses, "They're wild animals, right? Aren't they wild animals?"

In the next interview, the host asks the four-year-old son of a terrorist serving a 15-year sentence who jailed his father. The boy answers, "The Jews." The host again presses, "The Jews are our enemies, right?"

Palestinian Media Watch, which provided translation of the program, pointed out that in the second interview, the host and the young boy specifically directed their anger at all Jews, and not just Israelis.

Israelis argue that such incidents of blatant incitement, especially when they involve children, make reaching a genuine and lasting peace agreement all but impossible.

Israeli minister: Christians and Jews 'in the same boat'

Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs Moshe Ya'alon on Saturday declared that Evangelical Christians and Israeli Jews are "in the same boat" and need to work more closely together to overcome their shared obstacles and enemies.

Ya'alon was speaking at the 2010 Epicenter conference in Philadelphia. Epicenter is an annual Evangelical gathering focusing on Israel, the Middle East and the fulfillment of biblical prophecy. It is hosted on by best-selling author Joel Rosenberg.

CBN reported that Ya'alon was by far the most anticipated speaker at the conference, which was attended by 1,500, and watched via satellite by another 20,000.

Ya'alon is one of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's most trusted ministers, and has, like Netanyahu, long been an advocate of strengthening Israel's relations with its Bible-believing Christian allies around the world.

Ya'alon previously served as the chief of staff of Israel's army. He was prematurely ousted in 2005 when he used his position to publicly oppose the uprooting of 10,000 Jews from their homes in the Gaza Strip.

American History - Landmarks - Laus Deo

You may have already read or known about this. It's always nice to review a bit of history.

FYI
Laus Deo...........

I learn something new every day......................Read on!
One detail that is never mentioned is that in Washington , D.C. there can never be a building of greater height than the Washington Monument . With
all the uproar about removing the ten commandments, etc., this is worth a moment or two of your time..
I was not aware of this amazing historical information.
On the aluminum cap, atop the Washington Monument in Washington, D.C. , are displayed two words: Laus Deo.
No one can see these words. In fact, most visitors to the monument are totally unaware they are even there and for that matter, probably couldn't care less.
Once you know Laus Deo's history , you will want to share this with everyone you know. These words have been there for many years; they are 555 feet, 5.125 inches high, perched atop the monument, facing skyward to the Father of our nation, overlooking the 69 square miles which comprise the District of Columbia, capital of the United States of America.

Laus Deo!
Two seemingly insignificant, unnoticed words. Out of sight and, one might think, out of mind, but very meaningfully placed at the highest point over what is the most powerful city in the most successful nation in the world.
So, what do those two words, in Latin, composed of just four syllables and only seven letters, possibly mean? Very simply, they say
" Praise be to God!"
Though construction of this giant obelisk began in 1848, when James Polk was President of the United States , it was not until 1888 that the monument
was inaugurated and opened to the public. It took twenty-five years to finally cap the memorial with a tribute to the Father of our nation,
Laus Deo. "Praise be to God!"

From atop this magnificent granite and marble structure, visitors may take in the beautiful panoramic view of the city with its division into
four major segments. From that vantage point, one can also easily see the original plan of the designer, Pierre Charles l'Enfant... a perfect cross
imposed upon the landscape, with
the White House to the north.
The Jefferson Memorial is to the south,
the Capitol to the east and
the Lincoln Memorial to the west.

A cross you ask? Why a cross? What about separation of church and state?
Yes, a cross; separation of church and state was not, is not, in the Constitution. So, read on. How interesting and, no doubt, intended to carry a
profound meaning for those who bother to notice.
Praise be to God! Within the monument itself are 898 steps and 50 landings. As one climbs the steps and pauses at the landings the memorial stones
are a message.......
On the 12th Landing is a prayer offered by the City of Baltimore;
On the 20th is a memorial presented by some Chinese Christians;
On the 24th a presentation made by Sunday School children from New York and Philadelphia quoting
Proverbs 10:7, Luke 18:16 and Proverbs 22:6.
Praise be to God!

When the cornerstone of the Washington Monument was laid on July 4th, 1848 deposited within it were many items including the Holy Bible presented by
the Bible Society. Praise be to God! Such was the discipline, the moral direction, and the spiritual mood given by the founder and first President of
our unique democracy "One Nation, Under God."
I am awed by Washington 's prayer for America Have you ever read it? Well, now is your unique opportunity so read on!

"Almighty God; We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy holy protection; that Thou wilt incline the hearts of
the citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to government; and entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and
for their fellow citizens of the United States at large. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love
mercy, and to demean ourselves with that charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication, we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen."

Laus Deo!
When one stops to observe the inscriptions found in public places all over our nation's capitol, he or she will easily find the signature of God, as it is unmistakably inscribed everywhere you look. You may forget the width and height of "Laus Deo ", its location, or the architects but no one
who reads this will be able to forget its meaning, or these words:
"Unless the Lord builds the house its builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord
watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain." (Psalm 127: 1)

It is hoped you will send this to every child you know; to every sister, brother, father, mother or friend. They will not find offense, because you
have given them a lesson in history that they probably never learned in school. With that, be not ashamed, or afraid, but have pity on those who will
never see this because someone failed to send it on.

PHILIPPIANS 2

002:001 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
002:002 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
002:003 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
002:004 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
002:005 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
002:006 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
002:007 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
002:008 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
002:009 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
002:010 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
002:011 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
002:012 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
002:013 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
002:014 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
002:015 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
002:016 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
002:017 Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all.
002:018 For the same cause also do ye joy, and rejoice with me.
002:019 But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state.
002:020 For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state.
002:021 For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's.
002:022 But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel.
002:023 Him therefore I hope to send presently, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me.
002:024 But I trust in the Lord that I also myself shall come shortly.
002:025 Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.
002:026 For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick.
002:027 For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.
002:028 I sent him therefore the more carefully, that, when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.
002:029 Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness; and hold such in reputation:
002:030 Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.
Guidelines - When is someone brain dead?
Charlie Butts - OneNewsNow - 6/26/2010 4:15:00 AMIn order to make sure doctors reach the correct conclusion in determining brain death, new guidelines that call for a lengthy examination have been developed.

The American Academy of Neurology (AAN) has issued new guidelines -- an update of rules initially written 15 years ago. Dr. Nick Yates, a spokesman for the Christian Medical Association (CMA), practices medicine in New York, where an existing checklist compares to the new guidelines. He thinks the update is a move in the right direction.

"I think that if this is followed, it should be a very good way of assisting the physicians involved to an accurate determination of death," Yates comments.

He explains that doctors have varied levels of knowledge and experience, but the extensive checklist would remove some of the "guess work" and variability among doctors.

"They need recommendations to follow. So if these are followed, I think it will go a long way with respect to an accurate diagnosis and hopefully removing of the inappropriate diagnosis," the CMA spokesman adds.

He believes that if the AAN puts the guidelines into effect, physicians will become aware of them over time, which would ultimately make them more knowledgeable in reaching their conclusions.
Euthanasia weighs evenly on U.S. morality scale
Charlie Butts - OneNewsNow - 6/27/2010 4:10:00 AMGallup's most recent "Values and Beliefs" survey shows an even split among Americans on the issue of doctor-assisted suicide.

While Americans find abortion morally wrong by a 50-to-38 percent margin, the poll shows they are split evenly (46% to 46%) when it comes to euthanasia. Rita Marker, president of the International Task Force on Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide (ITF), explains that does not mean more people are siding with proponents of assisted suicide.

"Two years ago, 51 percent found it to be morally acceptable. It's gone down five percentage points," she reports. "The same way in 2008: 44 percent thought it was wrong; now 46 percent think it's wrong. So since 2003, it has not been this much of a drop."

That means that over the past seven years, fewer people are finding the practice acceptable. Marker points out that there were higher rates for doctor-assisted suicide in previous polls when the question was acceptability on the basis of pain when nothing further could be done for a terminal illness.

"But...none of the proposals that have been presented ever have said people have to be in pain," she points out. "When people begin to recognize...that it's just a diagnosis -- or as I say, misdiagnosis -- of a prediction on how long they have to live, that's the only thing that's required. It doesn't have anything to do with pain."

So she concludes that this "misdiagnosis" has led people down a slippery slope to suicide for no legitimate reason. For example, people in Europe obtain help to end their lives for depression, which can be treated. Likewise, a spouse choosing to die at the same time their ailing mate commits suicide may seek assisted suicide.

But realizing the divide among Americans on pro-life issues, advocates are working to change the hearts and minds by insisting that issues be framed properly.
Gaza terrorists bombard southern Israel

Palestinian terrorists operating out of the Gaza Strip fired 12 mortar shells and one rocket at towns in southern Israel on Thursday, causing damage but no injuries.

It was the largest single day barrage in months.

Late Thursday night, Israeli forces responded by bombing an arms warehouse in northern Gaza and two smuggling tunnels in the southern part of the Hamas-ruled territory.

There were no reports of casualties in the Israeli reprisals.
Israel nabs Palestinian water pirates

Israeli soldiers last week spotted a group of four Palestinian Arabs illegally tapping into the Mekorot National Water Carrier pipeline south of the Judean town of Hebron. The soldiers captured two of the perpetrators.

Mekorot officials said the issue of Palestinian water piracy has become very serious of late, with Arab residents of Judea and Samaria siphoning off 10 million cubic meters of water every year.

"Water theft from Israeli pipes costs the State millions of shekels every year," a Mekorot official told Ynet.

Local Jewish residents said Palestinians so often drill into the water pipeline that most mornings they wake up to find they cannot bathe their children or even make coffee.

Most of the water in the Mekorot line comes from the Sea of Galilee, Israel's largest fresh water reservoir. Israel is already suffering from a severe water shortage.

Immigration back on front burner due to Ariz. law
LIZ SIDOTI- AP National Political Writer - 6/25/2010 5:40:00 AMTUCSON, Ariz.- With the scrawl of a pen, GOP Gov. Jan Brewer of Arizona awakened the dormant but explosive issue of illegal immigration, sending shock waves across the political spectrum in an election year when both parties had hoped to sidestep the topic.

Two months after Brewer signed a law instructing police to demand proof of a questionable person's legal status, voters have refocused on a topic that had faded into the background after Congress failed to overhaul the immigration system in 2007.

Protests have flared. Lawsuits have followed. Arizona boycotts are under way. More than 20 states are discussing similar efforts.

Polls again put border security and immigration among voters' top concerns.

"It's not just a problem in Arizona; it's a problem everywhere. People are just furious," Gary Widemann says of illegal immigration. "Something needs to be done."

He would know. Widemann, 59, splits his time between Arizona, a big gateway for illegal immigrants with an estimated 460,000 living there, and South Dakota, which has a small Hispanic population but relies on immigrants _ legal or not _ to fill jobs at its meatpacking plants.

"What the Arizona law did tap into was the idea that we've got to control our borders," said Andrew Kohut, director of the nonpartisan Pew Research Center. "This law really galvanized public opinion on that one aspect of this issue."

Politicians from President Barack Obama down find themselves again wrestling with a topic that's politically perilous for Republicans and Democrats alike, particularly in an election year and as both parties seek to court Hispanics, the nation's fastest-growing minority group.

They have little choice.

An Associated Press-GfK poll this month found that 85 percent of people now rank immigration as an important issue.

Every spoke in the wheel of American life is touched by it.

Porous borders and undocumented people have national security implications. Foreign workers become an important part of the economy, filling low-paying jobs and possibly depressing wage scales in higher-paying ones. Schools, businesses and most other entities are forced to adapt to immigrant-swelled populations. Family, race and social norms also are at play.

Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid, who faces a fierce re-election fight in Nevada, pushed for legislation in the spring to provide an eventual path to citizenship _ what critics call amnesty _ for many of the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants. Reid was accused of pandering and he shelved the plan when other Democrats declined to jump aboard.

In Arizona, Attorney General Terry Goddard opposes the law in a state that overwhelmingly supports it. The Democratic nominee for governor, he's trying to figure out just how to challenge Brewer on the issue.

Republican candidates also find themselves in a tight spot. Social conservatives want a get-tough policy on illegal immigrants, agriculture operations fear it will be too tough and businesses want more visas for immigrants possessing high-tech skills.

Arizona Sen. John McCain, the GOP champion of a comprehensive immigration reform when Congress last debated the issue, now advocates securing the border first. "Complete the dang fence," McCain says in a TV ad in his GOP primary race against former Rep. J.D. Hayworth, a staunch border-security advocate.

"Would I have written the bill? Probably not," McCain said in a recent interview. "But the fact is people in Arizona are frustrated because the federal government didn't act. People feel very passionate about it, here and everywhere."

In California, Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer's GOP challenger, Carly Fiorina, is finding that her defense of the Arizona law during the GOP primary could turn off Hispanics she needs to win in November. Meg Whitman, the state's GOP candidate for governor, shifted to the right on immigration during the primary but is now courting Hispanics with a TV ad that notes her opposition to the Arizona law.

Scorching now, the issue is certain to become even hotter as the nation's minority population steadily rises. Boosted by a surge in Hispanic births and people who call themselves multiracial, minorities now make up 35 percent of the U.S. population. Both parties are courting them.

Democrats have an edge. But Hispanic support isn't guaranteed. "This is a very tricky issue for the administration and for Democrats, in particular, because the Latino vote has been an important part of the Obama coalition," said Kohut.

Obama typifies the conflicted politicians.

He called the Arizona law irresponsible. But he also dispatched 1,200 more National Guard troops to the southern border to show he's sympathetic to slowing the tide of illegal immigrants. Obama supports the same legislation that Reid advocates, but the president is not putting it at the top of his priorities.

The latest AP-GfK poll shows about half the country now has a sour view of how he's handled the issue.

Protect the United States & it's finances. We cannot even afford our own. Look at the Social Sec., gov't stealing money from SS to buy computers to spend our money we as workers have placed there for retirement, look at the no budget with the wild spending of money, look at Obama. The U.S. Department of Illegal Alien Labor
Michelle Malkin - Syndicated Columnist - 6/25/2010 7:55:00 AM
President Obama's Labor Secretary Hilda Solis is supposed to represent American workers. What you need to know is that this longtime open-borders sympathizer has always had a rather radical definition of "American." At a Latino voter registration project conference in Los Angeles many years ago, Solis asserted to thunderous applause: "We are all Americans, whether you are legalized or not."

That's right. The woman in charge of enforcing our employment laws doesn't give a hoot about our immigration laws -- or about the fundamental distinction between those who followed the rules in pursuit of the American dream and those who didn't.

While in Congress, she opposed strengthening the border fence, supported expansion of illegal alien benefits (including driver's licenses and in-state tuition discounts), embraced sanctuary cities that refused to cooperate with federal homeland security officials to enforce immigration laws, and aggressively championed a mass amnesty. Solis was steeped in the pro-illegal alien worker organizing movement in Southern California and was buoyed by amnesty-supporting Big Labor groups led by the Service Employees International Union. She has now caused a Capitol Hill firestorm over her new taxpayer-funded advertising and outreach campaign to illegal aliens regarding fair wages:

"I'm here to tell you that your president, your secretary of labor, and this department will not allow anyone to be denied his or her rightful pay -- especially when so many in our nation are working long, hard, and often dangerous hours," Solis says in the video pitch. "We can help, and we will help. If you work in this country, you are protected by our laws. And you can count on the U.S. Department of Labor to see to it that those protections work for you."

To be sure, no one should be scammed out of "fair wages." Employers that hire and exploit illegal immigrant workers deserve full sanctions and punishment. But it's the timing, tone-deafness, and underlying blanket amnesty agenda of Solis' illegal alien outreach that has so many American workers and their representatives on Capitol Hill rightly upset. (Read "Amnesty Obama-style")

With double-digit unemployment and a growing nationwide revolt over Washington's border security failures, why has Solis chosen now to hire 250 new government field investigators to bolster her illegal alien workers' rights campaign? (Hint: Leftists unhappy with Obama's lack of progress on "comprehensive immigration reform" need appeasing. This is a quick bone to distract them.)

Unfortunately, the federal government is not alone in lavishing attention and resources on workers who shouldn't be here in the first place. As of 2008, California, Florida, Nevada, New York, Texas, and Utah all expressly included illegal aliens in their state workers' compensation plans -- and more than a dozen other states implicitly cover them.

Solis' public service announcement comes on the heels of little-noticed but far more troubling comments encouraging illegal alien workers in the Gulf Coast. Earlier this month, in the aftermath of the BP oil spill, according to Spanish language publication El Diario La Prensa, Solis signaled that her department was going out of its way to shield illegal immigrant laborers involved in cleanup efforts. "My purpose is to assist the workers with respect to safety and protection," she said. "We're protecting all workers regardless of migration status because that's the federal law." She told reporters that her department was in talks with local Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials who had visited coastal worksites to try to verify that workers were legal.

No word yet on whether she gave ICE her "we are all Americans, whether you are legalized or not" lecture. But it's a safe bet.

Amnesty Obama-style
Chad Groening - OneNewsNow - 6/25/2010 4:00:00 AM
An immigration reduction advocacy organization says President Barack Obama may try to use his presidential authority to circumvent Congress and effectively give amnesty to millions of illegal aliens in the U.S.

Eight U.S. senators, led by Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), have sent a letter to the president asking for answers about a plan that would allow Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to provide an amnesty to illegal immigrants, if the administration cannot secure enough votes for a bill in the Senate. The lawmakers are expressing concern over a unilateral plan they say would erode public confidence in the government's commitment to securing the nation's borders. (See earlier story)

Why would the White House consider granting a blanket amnesty
to millions of illegal immigrants?

Rosemary Jenks, director of government relations at Numbers USA, has a handle on the White House's approach to the controversial proposal. She says the president wants to take advantage of two laws that are already on the books -- parole and deferred action -- which basically allow authorities to grant amnesty to individuals on a case-by-case basis, often for humanitarian reasons.

"So they're talking about ignoring the case-by-case individual basis and just saying [they] have the power to grant parole and...the power to grant deferred action, 'so we'll just do that en masse,'" Jenks laments.

She explains that under such an arrangement, any illegal alien apprehended by the authorities could be given deferred action and allowed to stay in the U.S. and obtain a work permit. "And anyone who comes forward and applies," she says, summarizing the government's plan, "'we'll just give them parole and a work permit so they can stay until, at some point in the future, we can convince Congress to pass an amnesty -- and then we'll make them all permanent residents.'"

Jenks says another problem with such a plan is that Homeland Security does not have nearly enough staff to handle paperwork for so many amnesty recipients.

They're not all Americans, the illegal aleins doesn't want to learn English, or follow our laws, or fly our FLAG - Old Glory,or pay taxes. They want their country items to take over our way of life & how we speak & believe. In our History illegal aleins have been sent back to their country, just to protect our way of life, during the Great Depression & end of WW-2. Once again our country is in trouble & nobody is there to help us but, to take advange of our way of life without putting anything into our way of life.

Obama's Court pick Kagan a dangerous judicial activist
Call your senators today and urge them to vote "No" on Elana Kagan’s nomination to the Supreme Court
June 25, 2010

Dear Londa,

Next week, the Senate Judiciary Committee will hold hearings on President Obama's nominee to the United States Supreme Court, current Solicitor General Elana Kagan.

Her nomination should be opposed for any number of reasons (sources here - pdf):

•She is a judicial activist, who agrees with former Justice Thurgood Marshall that the Constitution given to us by the Framers was "defective" and that it contained "outdated notions of liberty, justice and equality."
•Her "judicial hero" is former Israeli justice Aharon Barak, who said a judge "may give a statute a new meaning...[t]he statute remains as it was, but its meaning changes, because the court has given it a new meaning that suits new social needs."
•She is anti-military and pro-homosexual. While dean of the Harvard Law School, she kicked military recruiters off campus, in defiance of a federal law which had been upheld by the Supreme Court on a unanimous vote. She said she "abhorred" the military's ban on open homosexual service, and called it a "moral injustice of the first order."
•She believes in the supremacy of international law over the Constitution. While dean at Harvard Law, she dropped the required course in the Constitution and replaced it with a required course on international law.
•She is pro-abortion and anti-life. She has contributed financially to pro-abortion groups, and believes that abortions should be taxpayer funded.
•She believes that the government may ban political pamphlets and books during an election season, in violation of the First Amendment's free speech protections.
•She is anti-Second Amendment. She is "not sympathetic" to the claim that individuals have the right to keep and bear arms under the Constitution.
•She is pro-Muslim. At the same time she kicked military recruiters off campus, she allowed Saudi Arabia to recruit lawyers for work on Shariah-Compliant Finance.
•She is anti-capitalist and pro-socialist, once writing glowingly of "socialism's greatness."
•Former Supreme Court nominee Robert Bork said that if Kagan is confirmed "you will have a court that is much more to the left than we have today."
Take Action

It is urgent that you contact your two senators today and urge them to vote "No" on Elana Kagan.

Email your two senators today and urge them to vote "No" on Elana Kagan.

It is very important that you forward this alert to your friends and family members.

Sincerely,

FROM LYNN JENKINS = HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Failing to Budget is Failing to Govern
As minority leader in the House of Representatives in 2006, Democrat Congressman Steny Hoyer said, “The most basic responsibility of governing is ‘enacting a budget.’” Apparently, since his party took control of the House, Congressman Hoyer forgot about this most basic responsibility of governing. Just this week he confirmed House Democrats will not even consider a budget this year. That’s right, as our nation’s debt pushes further beyond $13 trillion and as we are on target to have a record setting $1.4 trillion deficit this year, the leadership in the House of Representatives does not think it is necessary to pass a budget plan. In good years and bad, under Republican or Democrat control, every year since the Congressional Budget Act was passed in 1974, the House has passed a budget. Not this year.

As a CPA, I spent nearly two decades helping folks with their finances. Not once, however, did I tell a client that if they spent more money, went further into debt and refused to budget, that prosperity would return. Refusing to budget does not work for families or businesses, and it definitely does not work for the federal government. Failing to budget is failing to lead. The American people, from our senior citizens to our youngest children, deserve better. It is time to pass a responsible budget to stop the out-of-control spending and reduce the unsustainable deficits and debt. I joined Republican Leader John Boehner, Republican Whip Eric Cantor, Congressman Mike Pence, Congresswoman Cathy McMorris-Rodgers and Congressman Paul Ryan this week at a press conference to talk about this critical issue, and I encourage you to watch my remarks by clicking here.

Three Months of Broken Promises under Democrat’s Health Care Takeover
For more than a year, the White House and Democrats in Congress tried to convince the American people that their plan for a government takeover of health care would bring down health care costs, reduce our nation’s deficits and create jobs, and they pledged that if you liked your health care plan, that you could keep it. Unfortunately, only three months later ObamaCare is not living up to those promises. I said many times during the debate of this misguided legislation that the devil is in the details, and with each day, we learn about another harmful provision the Democrat’s included. I know that just opposing this bill is not acceptable, and that is why in addition to working on and supporting an alternative health care reform plan, I also support efforts to repeal the harmful provisions in ObamaCare and replace them with responsible reforms.

Passing Sanctions to Stop Iran from Acquiring Nuclear Weapons
In 2005, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that humankind ‘shall soon experience a world without the United States and without Zionism.’ That is why it is imperative the United States, in coordination with other nations and with the U.N., work to stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Earlier this week, I was extremely pleased that the House passed legislation to impose sanctions on Iran to stop them from acquiring nuclear weapons, and now I strongly urge President Obama to enact those sanctions. A nuclear Iran is not only a threat to our friends in Israel, it is a threat to us here at home and to nations around the world.

That's really great. Who is in charge at the U.S. Capital??? Let's just blow the budget because we cannot get the budget worked out. Is that why thing for the invisable Kansasen are being taken away (disable people children & adults). I'm talking about the real disable; not the ones who are on drugs or drunks who's on it. I talking about people with real health & mental problems. Prisoners get more then they do. Illegal Aliens get more then they do. Both groups have broken the law. I'm not just taking about the mexicans being illegal aliens I'm talking about ALL who is illegal here in the United States. People who break our LAWS.
I cannot believe in breaking the law & helping the people who break the law. That really knows they're breaking the law!!!!

Ad Feedback A coalition of pro-life advocates from across southeastern Virginia recently gathered in front of a new Planned Parenthood clinic in Virginia Beach, Va. to raise their voices together opposing abortions.

The facility is located next to a minority neighborhood -- something pro-life proponents argue is not just a coincidence.

The scorching summer sun did not stop the pro-life group from singing and praying. Drivers even showed their support, honking their horns as they drove past the pro-life demonstration.

One woman even felt compelled to stop, turn around and drive back to the scene as she drove by the rally.

Dozens of pro-life advocates lined the sidewalk directly across the street from the newly constructed clinic. They hoped their presence sent the clinic's administration a message even before it opened. They also wanted to encourage women to choose life.

"I think the power of prayer is undeniable," said Peter DiNardo of the organization Hampton Roads for Life. "We're calling God down now to make a difference in this city and this community and hopefully preventing this place from even opening."

"We want them to hear that we know that this is killing babies. We want the word to get out that they're killing babies," said the organization's Frances Bouton. "It's against God."

Dr. Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., has been on the front lines of the abortion debate for several decades. She led the crowd in prayer against the procedures that will be performed at the new clinic.

"Father, we pray right now for an end to abortion in this territory, in this land, right now in Virginia Beach area," King prayed.

"I really wanted to come to appeal to everybody that's to the north, south, east and west of this clinic -- if you have any conscience at all and any heart just please support the effort to get this facility closed," she told the crowd of supporters.

King is not surprised about the clinic's location on the Virginia Beach street known as Newtown Road.

"This clinic is very close to low income communities, minority folk black folks, hispanics and that's generally the case," King said. "Way over 50 percent of all Planned Parenthood facilities are in minority neighborhoods, or places where people have issues with poverty. And I always say Jesus fed the poor. Jesus didn't kill the poor -- so aborting babies is not going to help poverty."

"As a man of color it really bothers me to comprehend what they're doing and trying to do," said Hampton Roads for Life's LeRoy Hardy. "And for us not to understand that and be part of doing something to prevent it is very troubling."

Planned Parenthood says the new clinic is scheduled to open in July.
