2 Covenant's - Old & New Studying the epistle it shows us the difference of the two covenant's. There are three areas. from Andrew Murry book "The Believer's New Covenant", "A careful study show us that the difference between two Covenants is seen in three areas. The law & its works is contrasted with the hearing of faith, the flesh & its religion with the flesh crucified, inability to do good with a walk in liberty & the power of the Spirit." Galatians 4:24 - 26 & 31 24) which things are symbolic. For these are the two covenants: the one from Mount Sinai which gives birth to bondage, which is Hagar --- 25) for this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia & corresponds to Jerusalem which now is, & is in bondage with her children --- 26) but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all 31) So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwomen but of the free. Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty by Christ has made us free, & do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. 1) Antithesis meaning from Webster's dictionary -- 1. "the rhetorical contrast of ideas by mean of parallel arrangement of words, clauses, or sentences as in action not words" Paul wrote Galatians 3:2 This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, Or by the hearing of faith? The Galatians did receive the Holy Spirit & was born into the New Covenants. They were pulled away from it by the Jewish teachers, & they believed that they were justified by faith. The Galatians were seeking sanctified by works. You can not be sanctified by works & to serve the old laws & their traditions They had forgotten the faith of God's grace. Faith is the only way to a divine life of God & to receive His promises. They forgot about that faith, only words with love. Today we lose the knowledge also. The same mistakes as the Galatians. From being dead to the law & freed from the law. It's Gods grace. 2) Flesh Is our flesh crucified. As the flesh distorted & tainted because of sin. We make show of worshiping. so we can look good. That is glorying the flesh not God! That is works not faith. That does nothing for you, but for you the flesh. It doesn't bring you into Gods grace & knowledge. You do have God powers in you. We need to crucified the flesh So, that when something goes wrong in your life or others that you love; you don't have to search for someone else to pray, You will have the power also, if you don't walk in the flesh. Crucified the flesh. 3) Fallen from grace Wandering from the enabling & sanctifying grace, Not having the fruits of the Spirit. such as joy, love, peace of the New Covenant Which is being lead by the Holy Spirit. Being led by the Holy Spirit you are not under the law. The Holy Spirit the supernatural power for the power of the supernatural life of true obedience & holiness.. God said that He would put His Spirit within you & He would cause you to walk in His statutes & keep His judgments. In the New Covenant there is a provision for every need.!!! Don't go by works go with the Spirit. You will be able to .walk in Gods love & grace.Praise Him, Sing to Him. Wash in Him & His glory! .
