Tea Party not drying upChris Woodward - OneNewsNow - 8/22/2010 4:00:00 AM

An outspoken member of the Tea Party movement continues the call to get out and vote.

Dr. Ed Holliday is a dentist and author -- and proud member of the Tea Party movement. He says the grassroots organization is not going anywhere, despite wishes from some liberals.

"Liberals wish it would run out of steam," he says with a chuckle. "You see...a lot of headlines that are misnamed to help imply that the Tea Party is somehow fighting amongst themselves and they're going to put themselves out of business."

Holliday says one lie in particular has been that the Tea Party has a racist nature.

"When you have several million people involved in something, are there a few screwballs out there? Of course there are...," he laments. "At the parties I have been a part of, we've always watched to make sure if anyone was going to be disruptive in a racial way, then they were asked to leave."

Speaking Wednesday on the Focal Point with Bryan Fischer program on American Family Radio, Holliday says Tea Party members are driven by the very words of the Constitution. "The Constitution says we the people, and not 'I the judge' or 'I the President' or 'I the Congress,'" he states. "And it's time for government to look back at what the people are saying."

Still, Holliday says he will not get too optimistic about the upcoming elections. "You have got to get out and get registered," the conservative activist urges. "You've got to get your friends and your neighbors to the polls. This is an election nobody can sit out."

Holliday is the author of Walk with Me: A Patriot's Guide from the Boston Tea Party to Today's Tea Party Revolution and The 21st Century Great Awakening.
