Phantom zip codes also found in Virginia
By: Barbara Hollingsworth

As much as $9.5 million in federal stimulus dollars went to 14 zip codes in Virginia that don’t exist or are in other states, Old Dominion Watchdog (http://virginia.watchdog.org) reports. The fake zip codes were listed on Recovery.gov, the federal Web site that is supposed to track how the stimulus money is being used.

The phony zip codes are a new wrinkle in Recovery.gov’s increasingly tattered credibility. In November, Ed Pound, director of communications for the Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board, said a rash of phantom congressional districts found on the website were the result of confusion by fund recipients, who apparently didn’t know who their congressman was.

But who would give millions of dollars to somebody who doesn’t even know their own zip code?

More fake zip codes here

UPDATE: Even with a real zip code, it takes seven hours for one firm to report back to Recovery.gov on its $2,000 stimulus contract.

JUST A JOKE

A cowboy named Bud was overseeing his herd in a remote mountainous pasture in Wyoming when suddenly a brand-new BMW advanced toward him out of a cloud of dust..

The driver, a young man in a Brioni suit, Gucci shoes, RayBan sunglasses and YSL tie, leaned out the window and asked the cowboy, "If I tell you exactly how many cows and calves you have in your herd, will you give me a calf?"

Bud looks at the man, obviously a yuppie, then looks at his peacefully grazing herd and calmly answers, "Sure, Why not?"

The yuppie parks his car, whips out his Dell notebook computer, connects it to his Cingular RAZR V3 cell phone, and surfs to a NASA page on the Internet, where he calls up a GPS satellite to get an exact fix on his location which he then feeds to another NASA satellite that scans the area in an ultra-high-resolution photo.
The young man then opens the digital photo in Adobe Photoshop and exports it to an image processing facility in Hamburg , Germany ..

Within seconds, he receives an email on his Palm Pilot that the image has been processed and the data stored. He then accesses an MS-SQL database through an ODBC connected Excel spreadsheet with email on his Blackberry and, after a few minutes, receives a response.

Finally, he prints out a full-color, 150-page report on his hi-tech, miniaturized HP LaserJet printer, turns to the cowboy and says, "You have exactly 1,586 cows and calves."

"That's right. Well, I guess you can take one of my calves," says Bud.

He watches the young man select one of the animals and looks on with amusement as the young man stuffs it into the trunk of his car.

Then Bud says to the young man, "Hey, if I can tell you exactly what your business is, will you give me back my calf?"

The young man thinks about it for a second and then says, "Okay, why not?"

"You're a Congressman for the U.S. Government", says Bud.

"Wow! That's correct," says the yuppie, "but how did you guess that?"

"No guessing required." answered the cowboy. "You showed up here even though nobody called you; you want to get paid for an answer I already knew, to a question I never asked. You used millions of dollars worth of equipment trying to show me how much smarter than me you are; and you don't know a thing about how working people make a living - or about cows, for that matter. This is a herd of sheep...
Now give me back my dog.

3 THINGS THE HOLY SPIRIT GIVES US

THREE THINGS THE HOLY SPIRIT GIVES US

The first thing the Holy Spirit gives us is LOVE. Next He gives us HOPE , & He gives us LIBERTY.

LOVE:
Loving people is sometimes hard to do. Mostly if you feel that you were wronged by that person or persons. We as Christians cannot do any work for God, that it is acceptable to God without Love. Love will produce fruit. You are not even able to have fellowship with God without love. To God you become as a clanging cymbal.

1 Corinthians 13:1
Though I speak with tongues of men & of angles, but have not love, I become as sounding brass or clanging cymbal.

We need to love others. The Holy Spirit gives us the love of God. Not just for people you love, but for people you do not like. You have to love them also. Let the Holy Spirit give you a heart of love.

Romans 5:5
Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

We have had that Love of God poured (pass tense) into our hearts. The Holy Spirit has done that for us & He will gives us Love to love the unloved. There are no barriers now to be able to reach that person or persons.

Titus 2:1 & 2
1) But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine;
2) that the older men be sober, reverent, temperance, sound in faith, in love, in patience

Titus tells us to stay in the sound doctrine of God. Love is one of the doctrine of God's. Without love you cannot serve God. Hatred begets Hatred. That is not of God!! But, Love begets Love! So Gods love helps us to love others!! It is by the grace of God to love the man who hates me.

Luke 6: 32 - 35
32) "But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For evensinners love those who love them.
33) "And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? Evensinners do the same.
34) "And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to recive as much back.
35) "But love your enemies do good, and lend hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Highest, For He is kind to the unthankful & evil,

Love begets Love, It does take the grace of God to love your enemy Remember hate the sin he has done, not the sinner. If a person does not have the Love of God in his heart, he will not have God in his heart. We need to stay in the Word of God to feed upon His Word!.

Hebrews 12:15
looking diligently lest anyone fall short of the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, & by this many become defiled;

2 Corointhians 5:14 & 15
14) For the love of Christ constrains us, because we judge thus: that if one died for all, then all died.
15) and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them & rose again.

Paul tells us that the love of Christ constrains us. The Holy Spirit gives us love & that we take this love & teach of Christ. People of today does not believe the Word of God is true. This is not new for this world. Jeremiah had this problem also. Look at Jeremiah 32:2 & Jeremiah 20:9, We are to hold the truth of Gods love. Paul put love at the head of the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians. Love is the very first one. And really even through the other eight. Joy is love exulting; peace is love in repose; long-suffering is love on trail; gentleness is love in society; goodness is love in action; faith is love on the battlefield; meekness is love at school; & temperance is love in training.

HOPE:
With out hope you are not useful in Gods work. That means if losing hope is putting you out of communion with God. So he does not have the Spirit of God upon him for any service. There is not a place in the bible where God used a person without hope.

Romans 15:13
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy & peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit

We should not become discourage. So, ask God to forgive you of it, that we are cast down & discouraged. And ask God to give us hope through His Holy Spirit.

LIBERTY
We have gone through love, then hope, & now liberty. God does not use men who is in bound up. In today churches there is not a whole lot of liberty. Churches has so much formalism of strict adherece of their regligion. They criticize church as you would a move or on stage performance. They no longer listen to what actually the man of God is saying. They want to be entertain, we go to church to receive the Word of God. I know that is harse to say, but it is the truth! I would call it a carnally mind set. If you want liberty you must receive the Spoken Word of God.

2 Corinthians 3:17
Now the Lord is the Spirit; & where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty

Romans 8:21
because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

Galatians 5:1 & 13
1) Stand fast therefore inn the liberty by which Christ has made us free, & do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
13) For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

James 1:25
But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty & continues in it, & is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

1 Peter 2:16
as free, yet not using your liberty as a cloak for vice, but as servants of God.

Some people will not do the work of God, even when you tell them how good they would be. They will say: I have a life, where really they are tied up in bondage.. What would have happen if Christ said I had a life. What about all the men & women of the Bible said that also. Christ came to set us free! And He wants us to work & speak for Him. Even some will not even pray in a prayer meeting when they are asked to say a prayer or have a few words about Christ. That is very much a cold spirit in the church. The only reason they went in the first place was they felt it was their duty. Instead of a privilege!! That just is not right.

We need the Holy Spirit to give us these three things -- Love, Hope, Liberty. Placing them in our hearts! Don't you want Love, Hope, Liberty? I sure do. We need to pray daily for the renewing of these in our life, so we can enter boldly into Holy of the Holies.

Hebrews 10:19
Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus,

It is a poor life to just live for sake of self. That gets us no where. We need to be used of God. To be a Sanctified Vessel of Him!!

2 Timothy 2:21
Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified & useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:17
that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equpped for every good work.

AMEN & AMEN

Different Morals of the Grasshopper & the Ant

ANT AND THE GRASSHOPPER !!!!
Two Different Versions.................
Two Different Morals....................
OLD VERSION.
The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.
The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away..
Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed.
The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.
MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself!
MODERN VERSION.
The ant works hard in the withering heat and the rain all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.
The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.
Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while he is cold and starving.
CBS, NBC , PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food.
America is stunned by the sharp contrast.
How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?
Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper and everybody cries when they sing, 'It's Not Easy Being Green.'
ACORN stages a demonstration in front of the ant's house where the news stations film the group singing, We shall overcome. Then Rev. Jeremiah Wright has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper's sake.
President Obama condemns the ant and blames President Bush, President Reagan, Christopher Columbus, and the Pope for the grasshopper's plight.
Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.
Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer.
The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the Government Green Czar and given to the grasshopper.
The story ends as we see the grasshopper and his free-loading friends finishing up the last bits of the ants food while the government house he is in, which, as you recall, just happens to be the ant's old house, crumbles around them because the grasshopper doesn't maintain it.
The ant has disappeared in the snow, never to be seen again.
The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident, and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the ramshackle, once prosperous and once peaceful, neighborhood.
The entire Nation collapses bringing the rest of the free world with it.
MORAL OF THE STORY: Be careful how you vote in 2010.
I’ve sent this to you because I believe that you are an ant not a grasshopper!
Make sure that you pass this on to other ants.
Don’t bother sending it on to any grasshoppers because they wouldn’t understand it anyway.

Thank you Linda for sending this!!
That is the way it is
