Dear MoveOn member,
Elected leaders should listen to their constituents. That's how it's supposed to work.
And voters have spoken. A recent poll by SurveyUSA about corporate influence over our democracy shows that voters want their leaders to stand up on this critical issue. Here's what it found:
An overwhelming 73% of voters, including 67% of Republicans and 71% of independents, are more likely to support a candidate for Congress who works to reduce the influence of corporate lobbyists in Washington.
And almost two out of three voters (60%) disagree with the Supreme Court's decision in the Citizens United case.
As one of over 475,000 people who have endorsed the Fight Washington Corruption pledge—which calls on Congress to deal with exactly these issues—that may not surprise you.
But what may surprise you is that Rep. Jenkins still has not signed this pledge.
Can you send a free fax to share these poll results with Rep. Jenkins and tell her to sign the pledge?

33 candidates and members of Congress have already signed the pledge.
The pledge calls on Congress to:
support an amendment to undo the Citizens United ruling;
pass the Fair Elections Now Act to support small-donor elections;
enact lobbying reforms to increase transparency and close the revolving door in Washington.
These 33 candidates are leading an effort that millions of Americans are looking to Congress to take on. Rep. Jenkins should join them.
By faxing these poll results to Rep. Jenkins you can show her that the voters in her district not only support the pledge, but that they care enough to ask her to sign it too.

Thanks for all you do.
