Missiles fired at Israeli resort town of Eilat

Terrorists operating out of the Sinai Peninsula fired five missiles toward the resort city of Eilat at the southern tip of Israel on Monday morning.

Two of the missiles landed in the neighboring Jordanian resort and port city of Aqaba. One of those missiles hit the beach adjacent to the Intercontinental Hotel and wounded four people, one seriously.

Two of the missiles landed in the Red Sea, and another hit just behind the main row of luxury hotels in Eilat.

The Israeli army was coordinating with the Jordanian and Egyptian militaries to determine the source of the attack and the group responsible for it. The Sinai is increasingly becoming a hotbed of terrorist activity. Hamas and several global terrorist networks are active there.

Palestinian missile hits Israeli city

Palestinian terrorists operating out of the Gaza Strip fired a Grad missile into the heart of the Israeli coastal city of Ashkelon on Friday.

The missile landed in a central residential neighborhood, causing damage to surrounding buildings and vehicles. Two people were treated for shock.

Israeli ambassadors were instructed to file complaints to the UN Security Council and the UN Human Rights Council and to convey the following message:

"The Grad missile launch on a city the size of Ashkelon is a clear attempt to kill men, women and children and is a clear violation of international law and sheds light on the murderous, barbaric and violent intent of the missile attack."

The "military wing" of Gaza's ruling Hamas faction claimed responsibility for the attack.

Israel responded to the attack with an air strike against a Hamas position in Gaza on Friday night. One senior Hamas official and either other terrorists were reportedly killed in the attack.

A day later, Hamas fired another rocket, this time at the battered southern Israel town of Sderot. The Saturday morning attack causes serious to a public building in the regional council center adjacent to Sderot. There were no injuries in the attack, as the facility was closed for Shabbat.
