FROM ONE NEWS NOW - U.S. Bribing Kenyans to pass pro-abortion in Constitution

U.S. bribing Kenyans to pass pro-abortion Constitution
Charlie Butts - OneNewsNow - 7/23/2010 5:20:00 AMAmerican tax dollars are being used to finance "yes" votes in an election on a proposed revision to the Constitution in Kenya.

So far, an estimated $23 million from America alone has been spent on the election. Dr. Brian Clowes, director of research with Human Life International (HLI), tells OneNewsNow it is a showcase of how pro-abortion activists work.

"They sneaked an article into the Constitution, number 26, which legalizes abortion," he reports. "It's completely against the feelings and the faith and the culture of virtually every Kenyan. It's completely a foreign idea to them, killing their own unborn children. "

Kenya is just one example of what the United States and United Nations are doing to promote abortion internationally, and pro-lifers fear that if the proposed Kenyan constitution does pass, a domino effect will erupt throughout other African countries.

"This is a classic example of the U.S. going in," Clowes laments. "Even Vice President Biden has been over there saying, 'You know, if you vote yes on this constitution, we'll open the floodgates of money for you' -- and that's just an outright, blatant bribe."

The HLI research director has documented 31 international organizations on the ground in Kenya promoting "population control" -- typically used as another term for abortion. Yet they have loudly complained about the small amount of money pro-life groups are spending to educate the public and encourage them to vote no in the election August 4.

FROM ONE NEWS NOW/AFA = Democrats War on the West

The Democrats' war on the West
Michelle Malkin - Syndicated Columnist - 7/23/2010 9:45:00 AM
"Why do they hate us?" It's a burning question on the minds of border-dwelling taxpayers, small-business owners, farmers, and Rocky Mountain oil and gas industry workers suffering under punitive Democrat policies. Eighteen months into the Barack Obama administration, the war on the American West is in full swing.

The first battlefront: immigration. On Wednesday, Senate Democrats rejected a GOP amendment banning the use of federal funds to participate in any litigation against the new Arizona immigration enforcement law.

"Our federal government should be doing its job to secure our borders rather than trying to bully and intimidate the people of Arizona," argued Republican amendment sponsor Sen. Jim DeMint of South Carolina. "We should not be suing and really hassling the people of Arizona for doing what we should be doing here, and that's protecting the citizenry."

All but five Senate Democrats (Indiana's Evan Bayh took a pass and didn't vote) sided with the anti-Arizona Obama administration -- and against not only a majority of Arizonans, but a majority of Americans who support the state's effort to restore order on the chaotic southern border and protect American workers facing double-digit unemployment.

Several House Democrats have actively lobbied to boycott Arizona and crush its economy -- most notably, southern Arizona's own Democrat Rep. Raul Grijalva, who urged civic, religious and political groups to take their convention dollars elsewhere.

"Do not do business with this state," Grijalva told open-borders zealots bent on punishing law-abiding citizens to "send a message."

For its part, the Obama Justice Department's Civil Rights Division has targeted Maricopa County, Ariz., Sheriff Joe Arpaio for more than a year over his strict enforcement policies against illegal alien criminals. The hell-bent Civil Rights Division is helmed by veteran illegal immigration advocate Thomas Perez, who has lobbied for driver's licenses, in-state tuition discounts and blanket amnesty for millions of border-jumpers, visa overstayers and deportation fugitives.

Arizona's neighbor to the north, Utah, is under fire by a different set of left-wing bureaucrats. When Interior Secretary Ken Salazar isn't busy destroying jobs through his radical offshore drilling moratorium, he's been blocking onshore development and wreaking havoc on the Beehive State's energy industry.

Last week, Salazar defended pulling 77 oil lease contracts granted in the final days of the George W. Bush administration. Salazar's inspector general concluded that there was no evidence of any rush to auction off the parcels -- as baselessly claimed by environmental groups and Salazar himself. In fact, the leases were granted only after seven full years of rigorous study and debate.

That makes two Salazar job-destroying bans based off bogus eco-claims. (Remember: Loathsome cowboy Salazar was behind the shameless doctoring of a scientific report to bolster the Obama administration's devastating offshore drilling ban.)

Uintah County, Utah, officials have sued the Interior Department over the rescinded leases, which have cost the state untold millions of dollars and countless jobs in a tough economy. Not to mention the court expenses, legal morass and regulatory uncertainty.

Other Western states are reeling as a result of the Democrats' eco-radicalism -- and the rest of America is paying a high price, too. Salazar was a leading opponent of oil shale development when he served in the U.S. Senate for Colorado.

There are an estimated 800 billion barrels of recoverable oil shale in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming alone -- enough to potentially free us from Saudi oil dependence. Yet as Obama's interior secretary, Salazar has wielded his power to halt plans to lease oil shale rights in the West. In addition, Obama's Bureau of Land Management is dragging its feet on more than $100 million in unissued oil and gas leases in Wyoming. These resources remain untapped thanks to militant greenies who pay lip service to energy independence while blocking all practical means of achieving it.

At a partisan rally on Monday to crusade for endless unemployment insurance benefits extensions, President Obama lectured Republicans to "stop holding workers hostage to politics." Speak for yourself, pal.

FROM ISREAL TODAY - OBAMA, A 'STRATEGIC CATASTROPHE

Obama, a 'Strategic Catastrophe'
Israeli officials say it's not Iran that is Israel's greatest threat | Aviel Schneider

Netanyahu to Obama: Let my people...STAY!Although Israeli officials publicly play down the crisis in relations between Jerusalem and Washington, privately the language is much different. Sources close to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu describe Obama as a "strategic catastrophe" for Israel.

Officials in the Prime Minister's Office, speaking on condition of anonymity to the nation's top newspapers, see the Obama administration as a serious threat to the future of the State of Israel. On the record, Israel and the US have a "strategic partnership that is unbreakable"; off the record, the terminology is blunt to say the least.

"President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have drawn a clear line, supporting the Palestinian position at the expense of Israel," said one Netanyahu confidant. "It is insane, it is sick. Relations between Jerusalem and Washington are simply disastrous; the situation has never been so dangerous. This US President wants to establish a Palestinian state at any price and hand them Jerusalem on a silver platter."

Netanyahu has repeatedly distanced himself from such statements, but commentators say the government speaks with a forked tongue. "Israel's relations with the US are at a low point, and Obama poses a danger to Israel," wrote Nahum Barnea in the nation's biggest newspaper Yediot Ahronot.

The feeling among the Israeli public is that Obama is appeasing the Muslim world at the expense of Israel.

"The American President told me in confidence that he is a Muslim," said Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit on Nile TV. That could explain why Obama has instructed that the term "Islamic extremism" no longer be used in official government documents and statements.

Furthermore, the US is now accusing Israel of harming American interests in the Middle East. General David Petraeus, the head of US Central Command, said Israel's intransigence on resolving the conflict with the Palestinians is endangering US forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Even the US Congress considers Obama's behavior toward Netanyahu humiliating. Three-quarters of the House of Representatives, 337 of 435 members, signed a bipartisan letter to Clinton expressing "deep concern over recent tension" between the two countries, and demanding that it be smoothed over quickly and in private.

"Obama is a real problem for Israel," a senior official told told Yediot. "He is Israel's biggest strategic catastrophe."

The newspaper also quoted another official who believes that for the first time Washington has switched sides. "The Obama White House is putting pressure only on Israel but does not expect anything from the Palestinians," he said. "These American demands are unacceptable."

"The Americans know very well that Israeli construction has always been happening in East Jerusalem and building in Jewish neighborhoods has never been frozen," said another official. "The Americans use excuses like [the Jewish neighborhood of] Ramat Shlomo and the Shepherd Hotel [another Jewish building project in East Jerusalem] to confront Netanyahu."

So during Passover, Netanyahu invited Nobel Prize-winning author and Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel to his private residence in Caesaria. He urged Wiesel, who is an American citizen, to make it clear to his good friend Obama how important Jerusalem is to the Jewish people.

"Jerusalem was, is and always will be the united capital of Israel," said Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat. "Construction in all parts of Jerusalem will continue."

According to a poll by the Independent Media Review & Analysis, 70 percent of Israeli Jews oppose a construction freeze in East Jerusalem, compared to only 19 percent who support it. The survey also found that 69 percent believe the division of Jerusalem with international control of the Old City would lead to ongoing conflict rather than peace.

Officials in Netanyahu's inner circle believe Obama's strategy is to force a change of government in Israel. By forcing Israeli concessions on the "settlement" issue, hawks could bolt the coalition, pushing Netanyahu into an alliance with the dovish Kadima party. Kadima is led by former Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, who, under the previous Olmert government, offered the Palestinians an independent state in 97 percent of the disputed territories with a capital in East Jerusalem.

Obama has been buoyed by his domestic success in passing the historic health care reform bill. And he may believe that he can extend that victory to the international arena by resolving the Middle East conflict. But if Obama continues to underestimate Israeli resolve on Jerusalem, his peace efforts are doomed to failure.

Israeli Forces Thwart Attack on Jewish TownCBNNews.com Thursday, July 22, 2010RSS
BARKAN, Israel - An IDF unit prevented a group of Arab infiltrators from entering the community of Barkan in southern Samaria (the West Bank).

Because of repeated attempts by local Arabs to infiltrate the town, the IDF has posted a night guard from the Ephraim Brigade in Barkan.

About 2:00 a.m., the troops spotted a group in the area and waited to see what they were up to. One of them appeared to be armed.

When it became clear they were approaching the town's security fence, the soldiers called to them to halt, but they ignored the order. At that point, the troops opened fire on the cell, killing the armed gunmen and taking another into custody, while the others managed to escape.

IDF forces were searching the area for the rest of the infiltrators.

Following the incident, Brig. Gen. Yoav Mordechai, head of the Civil Administration of Judea and Samaria, contacted commanders from the Palestinian Authority security forces in the Kalkilya region to request a joint investigation into the attempted attack.

Mordechai asked PA commanders to deploy their own forces to restrain the local Arab population.

The PA forces sent a representative to the scene, the IDF Spokesperson's Office reported.

Initial assessments indicate the motive may have been criminal rather than nationalistic, but that remains to be verified.

Barkan, founded in 1981 and located slightly west of Ariel, is home to a large industrial park housing 120 businesses and factories employing around 5,000 people.

Arabs from surrounding communities work alongside their Jewish neighbors in many of these businesses.

In April, PA President Mahmoud Abbas signed legislation banning Arabs from working in Jewish-owned businesses. Violators could face up to a five-year prison term and hefty fines.

The PA also ordered a boycott on all goods and produce from Jewish towns and farms in Judea and Samaria.

Along the Gaza Border

Meanwhile, IDF troops killed two members of an Islamic Jihad terror cell as they approached the security fence in northern Gaza.

IDF commanders ordered a tank to open fire on them after receiving warnings that a terror cell from Beit Hanoun was preparing to fire an anti-tank missile at troops patrolling along the border.

According to Palestinian medical sources, six members of the cell were hospitalized.

Arizona Immigration Lawsuit Hearings BeginCBNNews.com Thursday, July 22, 2010RSS

The court battle over Arizona's immigration law began Thursday with a packed courtroom and dozens of protestors outside.

Nearly 150 spectators and 30 lawyers attended the hearing on whether Arizona's strict immigration law will go into effect in one week.

Thursday's arguments focus on one of seven lawsuits filed against Arizona.

Opponents of the law want U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton to grant an injunction to block the law before it takes effect July 29.

The law in question allows Arizona police to check a person's immigration status if suspicions arise during other law enforcement incidents.

Some feel it violates peoples' rights.

CBN News spoke with Jordan Sekulow of the American Center for Law and Justice about the law and whether it oversteps constitutional authority.

"It's morally wrong," said 64-year-old Phoenix nurse Sarah Fox. "I'm getting old and I don't have many years left to speak out against what is wrong."

Supporters of the law waved American flags and signs at the hearing with messages like "Illegal is illegal."

Judge Bolton has not said when she might issue a ruling.

Nine States Support Arizona's Immigration LawCBNNews.com Thursday, July 15, 2010RSS
Nine states have officially backed Arizona's new immigration law.

Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox said the Wolverine State is the lead state backing the law, and has filed a supporting brief in federal court on behalf of Alabama, Florida, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas and Virginia.

"Arizona, Michigan and every other state have the authority to enforce immigration laws, and it is appalling to see President Obama use taxpayer dollars to stop a state's efforts to protect its own borders," Cox said in a statement.

The Obama administration recently filed suit to block the Arizona law and argues immigration is a federal issue. The states have countered that they're authorized to enforce immigration laws and protect their borders.

"By lawsuit, rather than by legislation, the federal government seeks to negate this preexisting power of the states to verify a person's immigration status and similarly seeks to reject the assistance that the states can lawfully provide to the Federal government," Cox wrote in his brief.

The Arizona law requires officers to question people about their immigration status during enforcement of other laws if they suspect they're in the U.S. illegally. The law goes into effect July 29.

GOP Lawmaker: WH Illegally Funding Kenya AbortionCBNNews.com Thursday, July 22, 2010RSS

A Republican congressman has accused the Obama administration of spending U.S. tax dollars on an initiative that would make abortion legal in Kenya.

Citing a report by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Rep. Chris Smith, R-N.J., said $23 million has gone to Kenyan groups who are working for passage of a new constitution.

The document would expand current abortion laws, which currently allow the procedure only when the mother's life is in danger.

Smith also said the new constitution was not written by Kenyans, but by U.S.-funded non-governmental organizations working with Planned Parenthood.

Federal law forbids the U.S. government to lobby for abortion in other countries.

"Under no circumstances should the U.S. government take sides," Smith said at a news conference Wednesday. "Yet that is precisely what the Obama administration has done."

Smith and two other congressmen have called for a federal investigation into the administration's funding on the referendum.

"If violations of the law have occurred, which on the face of it they have, the information must be brought before law enforcement," Smith said. "Not even presidents are above the law."

Meanwhile, Christian churches in Kenya are encouraging people to vote against the proposed constitution next week.

The draft document would also establish Islamic Sharia law courts where Muslims could resolve social and family disputes according to their beliefs.

White and Black Men Forsake Obama Because He Is Promoting Homosexuality; White People in General and Independents Desert Him As Well
Many people do not want to say this, because it is not politically correct: but Obama is losing men by the droves - white men, black men and Hispanic men, simply because he is the only President that they have ever seen or heard push the homosexual agenda so forcibly. Even without religion in their lives, real men will not abide that. And these men won't make a big fuss about it, they will just quietly walk away. --Editor

JEREMIAH 2:9-17

002:009 Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith the LORD, and with your children's children will I plead.
002:010 For pass over the isles of Chittim, and see; and send unto Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there be such a thing.
002:011 Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.
002:012 Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the LORD.
002:013 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
002:014 Is Israel a servant? is he a homeborn slave? why is he spoiled?
002:015 The young lions roared upon him, and yelled, and they made his land waste: his cities are burned without inhabitant.
002:016 Also the children of Noph and Tahapanes have broken the crown of thy head.
002:017 Hast thou not procured this unto thyself, in that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, when he led thee by the way?
